It’s a nice beach property, very clean and green. Also it’s quiet , away from crowd. Food and water is very costly.Also they charge extra 200 Rs for room delivery of food. All restaurants are also costly .

Wonderful hotel

We really like this hotel. Staff are friendly and the facilities and food is universally good. Spa was an added bonus that’s free to guests and is in a beautiful garden

Second visit to this lovely hotel and nearly as good as 9 years ago. Only complaint was allowing weekend day trips by local groups of men, who were loud and allowed to drink beer in the main swimming pool while families and kids were trying to swim, no one from the hotel challenged their behaviour and it felt intimidating. Apart from that it was wonderful

We had a wonderful time at this resort, as always (fourth time staying here). Service and cleaning always good. Nice and quiet pool areas, and also just e few meters to the beach. Thanx Leena for always going the extra mile for great service.

Overall Tamassa was a good fit for our family vacation needs - the pool and beach are beautiful and it’s convenient to be able to eat at their buffet (Show) restaurant, order from the B Bar, make a reservation at the Playa restaurant or order room service. However, the food taste was inconsistent as was the speed of service (ex at one point we had to call 4 times to get enough water bottles delivered to the room). We rented a car for the trip and the hotel is not too far from the 7 colored earth park, the huge Hindu statues at Grand Bassin, and a few other interesting locations - which was great as driving on the relatively small roads can be quite tiring. We also enjoyed the spa services which - though somewhat pricey compared to other locations - were really relaxing and enjoyable. Overall, we were happy we stayed at Tamassa.

First Mauritian Experience

Fantastic resort, very family friendly, safe and beautiful. Half board package was great for us, menu for lunch was a bit limited, but altogether was an excellent trip. A bit disappointed that we weren't offered the room upgrade or late checkout as GOLD VIP Guests. The resort is a bit far away from everything, but if you're planning on staying put at the resort, it's excellent.

I had high hopes for my stay here. There were however a few issues. It took about an hour to get into our room because the lock was not working and took many attempts to get in. Once inside the room seemed fine. However there were somethings not quite right. There was no tv remote, so called reception to notify them of this. A new remote appeared while we was out the room. This remote did not work, but I figured out how to program it to work, only to discover the tv was blank with no channels whatsoever. Later it was time to give my son a bath, but the bathtub had no plug. We had to order room service which had a charge of RS200 on top of the price of the drinks as the in room fridge/mini bar was not working. I did look at the back for a switch but it was very dirty so did not touch it. Other than these issues, we had a pleasant stay. The food was good and the staff and service excellent too. The check in and out was simple, however we was told after the deposit we could pay the difference but was then refunded out deposit and then had to pay drink charges, which meant we had to use a different card as the refund is not instant for a deposit The area around the complex was clean, well kept and looked amazing, just the room that let it down, which was a real shame.

Location: The hotel is on the south coast good for astrophotography for southern sky objects Commute to airport : very scenic route Commute to north: via B102: the most beautiful sceneries you can expect Secure parking. My score :9 out of 10 Beach: Not the greatest on the island. You need protective footware, or you’re highly likely to pickup foot injuries from sharp broken coral and/or volcanic rocks I’ll give it 6/10 Staff: Mostly kind and conscientious; a few do need updated training as they can come across as a little rude My score: 7/10 Amenities: Kids activity, baby sitting, water sports, spa/hamam present and all well presented 8/10 Eateries There are 5 options within the hotel: 1- buffet restaurant : Very limited in my view, hygiene not always observed (see my pic of coffee machine as an example); not value for money, staff not always polite, however a great setup with open access to garden/pool- I’ll give it 1 out of 10 2- la playa beachfront restaurant: Top quality food, extremely professional staff (won’t forget Rahul’s kindness to my daughter), extremely romantic setup, albeit a little overpriced (see pics of tiny lobster costing 2800rp, £50 approx) I’ll give it 7/10 3- Burger van A cute addition to the hotel 5/10 4- bar food Typically fried stuff can be ordered, (chips, calamari, samosas etc) Great ambiance with the pool and live music area 6/10 5- room service Good, clean, tasty 7/10 Room: Adequately decorated, aircon, good size 7/10

Really great food and staff at La playa, a little overpriced perhaps, as expected.

Gorgeous hotel, friendly staff, spacious, pretty grounds, lovely pool & beach. But don't book through Expedia as the all inclusive package isn't properly all inclusive! Book with someone who gives access to Playa restaurant and keeps your AI going til 6pm on check out day! We felt like second class citizens compared to people who'd booked through other tour operators. Not the hotel's fault at all though. It's gorgeous, go there!!

We have just returned from a lovely relaxing break at Tamassa. From the moment we arrived we were amazed with the wonderful service and amazing facilities at Tamassa. We visited the lovely peaceful spa with sauna and steam room every other day, we went on the included snorkleing (3 times) and glass bottom boat even spotting a turtle one day. The beach was beautiful and everything so close. The room was lovely and comfortable. We spent most of our days in the pool, spa, playing table tennis or chess. The food was lovely with loads of choice. Service was great, and staff so friendly, can't fault anything. We never thought we'd be the type to like a resort holiday but this has converted us! We've come back feeling completely refreshed and recharged. Thank you Tamassa 🙂
