"Nice location and beautiful grounds. Bed was very comfortable and shower was pleasant. My particular room was motel-style and was able to park the car just outside the door - convenient. Nice little patio off the back door to sit and enjoy the garden. Room felt as though it hadn't been cleaned / used recently and had a musty smell, dust on lights, and dead bugs in the carpeting throughout the room along baseboards - nothing super terrible, but nothing you should expect on a room as expensive as this one was. Staff were awesome - very friendly, informative and responsive. The adjoining pub offered a very nice meal with a reasonable selection for all including fussy children - but make a reservation or you may be out of luck!!! We travelled with two children - not a lot here for them but that said I wasn't expecting much given the clientele this hotel usually attracts. Breakfast was a true continental experience - nothing hot unless you make your own oatmeal! Fruit selection on my day was particularly poor but cold, boiled eggs along with yogourt and a wide variety of bread and pastries with coffee and tea or juice were available. Again, staff were great. Overall, a nice stay."

"We had an incredible stay at this cottage while exploring Cape Breton! From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was seamless, and the hosts were friendly, welcoming, and very accommodating. The views overlooking the lake were absolutely unreal and made for the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing. The cottage itself was spacious, beautifully appointed, and spotlessly clean. It had everything we could possibly need, including plenty of extra bedding and thoughtful touches throughout. You can tell the hosts take great pride in their property. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable, and scenic getaway in Cape Breton. Five stars!"

"We were first to stay at this property for the season, there were a few kinks but Bill was responsive and fair. Here is what is important. The queen bed and bunk room matresses are really comfortable. Adequate towels and sheets etc. The house was clean.Bring your own stuff, milk, sugar, coffee, salt and pepper. Its bare bones, but the price is good. If you want 5 star go to Cabot. The view and location are amazing. Its an old duplex and you share the patio, but that's OK. Everyone should be friendly, its Cape Breton and the golf is amazing!!"
