"We stayed at Villa Romo for 10 days. The perfect place to get away and appreciate a slower pace and Spanish way of life. Carl & Maria were attentive throughout. Only snag was getting to the house on day one, as we were driving from Toledo. Managed to find the house before dark; a plus! The home is quite remote and it took us about 30 minutes to get there from the small town of Rio Gordo. (My advice is to buy groceries before you arrive.) "Villa is in a great location if you want to experience rural Spanish life in a mountain setting. However that comes with a couple of kilometre drive along a hilly country road which is in part unmade. If hiring a car, something to consider. At times power and water are off line but nothing too drastic. Property could have been cleaner for our arrival and requires new pool chairs. "After an initial adventure up the hills to find the villa using the very helpful instructions, we were so happy with property when we arrived. All very spacious, clean, thoughtfully layed out, with all items you would need at a holiday space. Kids loved the pool and eating outside with the spectacular views across the hills to the sea. "The villa is very easy to access and has truly stunning views over lake Vinuela and the surrounding mountains. It is a relatively short drive to the restaurant/bars and supermarkets in the area.
