We wouldn’t know how the royal senate race course hotel was because when we arrived the staff told us we’d be staying a hotel next door (despite the fact that we booked with the royal senate!) then they proceeded to tell us to wait “ten more minutes” everytime we asked for over an hour and a half. When we finally INSISITED they bring us to our room it was not done being cleaned. Mind you this is two hours after our allowed check in time. We were late to a wedding event because of this debacle. Had they just told us the room wasn’t ready but we could leave our bags and come back later we would have been perfectly okay with that. But instead they strung us along and kept telling us the room was almost ready. And we still aren’t sure why we didn’t actually stay at the hotel we paid for?! No one explained it. We were supposed to stay two nights but left after the first because of this. Though once we got to our room the accommodations were fine and satisfactory. Despite this, I would NOT suggest this hotel to anyone.

There was a bit of a walk involved from the car to the hotel. There were quite a few steps and if you have difficulty in walking a bit, it might be inconvenient. Rooms were clean and hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Pretty good overall

The rooms are tidy and well maintained. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Although the experience overall was pretty good, room service is a bit of a problem. They use a restaurant to fulfil orders, which doesn't have most of the menu available at times. But other than that tiny issue, would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in for a short period - business or leisure.
