Great location in old town Bergamo, walkable to train station (for Naples), bus stops, shopping areas, and numerous restaurants. Very helpful staff, and great buffet breakfast plus made-to-order coffees and eggs. Would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

Wow, this boutique hotel really punches above it's weight. From confirmation of our reservation to our day of departure, we felt as though we were staying with family. Don't misread this; the staff are exceptionally professional but super friendly. Nothing was ever too much, and advice on travel arrangements, to planning day trips was always freely available, but never pushy, and always provided with a warm and welcoming smile. Ideally located for access to buses and within easy walkable distance to the train, this hotel is well situated and close to the vast array of restaurants. I cannot praise them enough and already planning a return trip. Breakfasts were fresh and enticing, with hot options on request; omelettes were superb. I have no hesitation to give the hotel a very high recommendation.

We loved this hotel. The staff and the service were excellent. They made us feel very welcome. The breakfast buffet was really good with lots of options. The location was great for getting to restaurants, shopping, and the sites. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Hotel Petronilla for you trip.

The staff is absolutely fantastic. Francisco, Rebecca, and Joanne are wonderful hosts. They helped with dinner ideas and reservations, not to mention setting up a great E-Bike tour of Bergamo. The breakfast is very good with a nice patio to sit outside on in the morning. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again when I am in the area.

Francesco was so lovely, nothing was ever too much. He looked after us with such care. All the staff was so impressive, their attention to detail was superb. We loved The Petronilla hotel. Every thing about this place was perfect. Including the best breakfast ever. Eggs cooked to personal choice and presentation was lovely. Great selection of fruit and pastries too. Staff were so friendly particular mention to Rebecca and Joanne who made us feel so welcome. We didn’t get the guys name at breakfast but very helpful too. In a lovely part of Bergamo with plenty shops and restaurants nearby. About a 20 minute walk to Lecco station. We would recommend this hotel.

We have had a wonderful stay at Hotel Petronilla. The room was very nice. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent. I can’t stress enough how pleasant and helpful the staff was. They went beyond with service. One gentleman (I wish I’d gotten his name) even went out and got Diet Coke for me when he realized that they were out. Breakfast was also very nice in a covered terrace. It was a little bit of a hike to the upper city but not too bad. All in all, I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel..

Extremely disappointed.

I was exceptionally disappointed with the reception department at the hotel. On arrival, we got lots of information and guidance to local places to go see eat etc. We were particularly warned to book a restaurant for Saturday night as the expectation was that the town would be very busy. The hotel staff offered to book on our behalf and we availed of that offer and asked them to book a particular restaurant for 8 o clock . We left it with them and headed off for a day trip. To my utter disappointment I got a phone call at 6.50pm while I was on a train back to go to the restaurant informing me that the only time available was a booking for 6.45 pm . I explained that I could not get there as I was on the train . I asked when was it booked . I was told that morning so I asked was did they not tell me then and I could have cut short my day excursion. No response and passed off as a misunderstanding/ miscommunication etc. It’s quite simple if and I say if it was booked that morning and the only time available was 6.45 pm you’d imagine that you would tell the customer that and let them make a decision on what to do. When I pointed this out I was told that they made a unilateral decision and believed ( I’ve no idea how) we were in the area and that we’d be okay / happy with 6.45pm . Anyway, no apology from them and passed off as a misunderstanding.No doubt the reception team will pass it off again a misunderstanding etc. but if a restaurant is not available let the client know ASAP
