Perfectly located in central Alkmaar. Beautiful hotel and we stayed in a lovely room with a view overlooking the entire city. Some things to note about the hotel: 1. You have to check out the remote for the AC unit, which they didn't tell us at check-in, so we had to go back downstairs and ask about it. 2. There was a beam in the room that made the room look gorgeous, however the placement of the bed under the beam made head-smacks VERY LIKELY. This would be very easy to avoid with a simple...

I booked this hotel not knowing it was just outside of Amsterdam in a village called Edam. It was the best thing!! Edam is only a 20 minute bus ride from Amsterdam’s Central Station. We got to see some of the country side and stay at a quaint little Inn for New Years Eve. We had a beautiful romantic dinner in their beautifully decorated restaurant. The only thing that surprised us was the quantity of fireworks that this community produced on New Years!! Amazing. We will surely go back!

This is a great hotel. The rooms are clean, tastefully decorated and modern. The staff went above and beyond and were very accommodating. Our family of five stayed for two nights. We ate at the restaurant the first night and it was excellent; it seems to be very popular with the locals. The only downside I would say is that the hotel is not in a location close to the city centre. However, they do have a free shuttle service which we utilised. This hotel is great value for the price.

Great hotel location to the Felision cruise terminal. Many of the local shops were closed on Tuesdays which made it difficult to find things. There was a local bus, but we didn't venture to take it since my daughter was embarking on a ship Wednesday morning. The hotel is situated on the grounds of a castle with many walking paths and beautiful scenery. Its great for anyone who wants a quiet holiday and appreciates nature. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The accommodation was modest and clean with all the amenities you expect from a good hotel. Although in a green area, the hotel is within walking distance of the town center that has a number of good restaurants. Both Haarlem and Amsterdam are within an hours distance from Heemskerk.
