Bern was a fantastic base to visit all the places in Switzerland I had missed on other trips. The train will take you almost anywhere in the country within 2 hours. La Pergola is an oasis, minutes from the main railway station, clean, comfortable rooms and friendly staff.

Booked a twin bed room. Beds were comfortable and room good size. Continental breakfast was excellent. The food looked and tasted fresh every morning and they coffee machine excellent. Complimentary fruit, coffee and ice cream available at reception. Tram and buses just outside the hotel and train station is a 10 minute walk away. The staff at Hotel La Pergola went the extra mile to be helpful and accomodating at all times. The hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood close to the town centre and within a short walk of the station. My room was comfortable and clean. I much appreciated the free communal tea and coffee making facilities on each floor too. Definitely recommended.

I love the rooms and the views and cleanliness and all the hospitality and also customer service but keep in mind most hotel in Zermatt or Switzerland don’t have AC so keep in mind, this hotel doesn’t have AC

Base level functional

This is a place to sleep, nothing more. The price was rather high for very basic accommodations, and the ventilation is insufficient for summer or summer-adjacent timeframe (was 15F above normal when we visited in Sept). A few of the lights didn't work and the shower drain was slow. No sheets for foldout couch. Neighborhood safe.

Wir haben das Hotel für einen 3-tägigen Städtetrip rund um Bern gebucht und waren sehr zufrieden. Zentrale und gut erreichbare Lage, alles sauber und ordentlich. Wir haben uns für ein recht kleines Zimmer entschieden, was zum Schlafen (wir waren den ganzen Tag unterwegs) aber vollkommen ausgereicht hat. Der Nachtzugang nachdem die Rezeption geschlossen war, hat auch wunderbar funktioniert. Alles in allem für einen Städtetrip sehr empfehlenswert und würden auch wieder dorthin gehen.
