"This is an older property that needs an update. Rooms are stinky. The air conditioner is super loud. That being said, the customer service is fabulous and they are very attentive to their guests. There’s a small breakfast every morning, the grounds are clean, bed was ok, rooms are spacious. We would stay again."

"The Moose was ideal for our family reunion of 23 people. There were more than enough beds and bedrooms. Each of our married children had their own master suite and the grandkids enjoyed being together in a large bunk room. We were pleased to find it ultra clean and everything in working order. The upstairs "barn" for young children and the downstairs basketball court for teens were big hits. The property host was terrific to work with and responded promptly to any questions we had."

"This home was perfect for our family getaway! The location is perfect, the views are incredible, the private beach was so easy to access. The sand is compacted down for easy walkability. You could walk out in the shallow water forever! The community pool was very nice. We would stay again in a heartbeat! The two tables in the main level allowed plenty of room for crafting and eating. The outdoor furniture on the deck was comfortable, and more time was spent there than in the downstairs living area with the sofa. I marked 4 stars on cleanliness because we found some mouse poop in a corner and had to clean it. This is bound to happen in a home out in nature. Because we had 3 toddlers with us, it was stressful for a bit while we tried to keep two of them away from it. I am putting it in the review not to knock the owners or location but to prepare other families so you can do a quick house sweep before the littles are let loose. This was the only cleanliness issue. It was very clean and well cared for. Communication with the host was also fabulous, and there is plenty of parking."

"We had a reunion of 36 people at the property. Adequate space for us to eat and mingle. Kitchen had two large fridges with ice maker. Two stoves. Lots of cabinets. The property was an old mill. So the inside is a combo of old timber's and newer woodwork to make the space divided up into many rooms, bathrooms and other spaces. The 7 toilets and 4 showers were adequate. The mattresses are basic grade. Bedding and towels are fresh. We had a couple of issues that were addressed immediately and we got a small compensation for a broken bed frame. Remember to bring laundry soap and paper towels. We enjoyed the fire pit and grassy area out back for lawn games etc. it's about 20 min to north beach of bear lake. 15 min to Montpelier where there are two major grocery stores."

Bear Country Cabins: 11 Cabins, Hot Tub, Sleeps 50, & Pet Friendly!

"Bear Lake Country Cabins was a great place for our family reunion of about 40 people! The kitchen was incredibly well stocked with high quality dishes, pans, serving and eating utensils and even 2 crockpots. Two refrigerators and 2 washers and dryers as well. Large central picnic table and 2 side tables in the main room made it possible to feed everyone at once. The manager was extremely responsive to questions and always texted right back immediately. Check in and out were super easy. The only complaints/suggestions I heard were: 1. The cabins needed more places to hang up clothes--perhaps some hooks, and/or more hangers. 2. Potential renters need to be aware that in all the rooms with queen bed bunk, the queen beds are set right on the floor. A little bit hard to get in and out of for older or pregnant occupants. Other than that we LOVED our time there!"
