Venture 8 miles north to the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, where you can walk the Elizabethan town walls, discover the local history, or enjoy riverside picnics and ice cream. Head 11 miles south to Bamburgh and explore the grand castle with a wide, sandy beach below. Seahouses (14 miles) is the launch point for boat trips to the Farne Islands, with a chance to spot puffins, seals, and perhaps even dolphins.
