Stay at Friends is a super cute place to stay. The staff are amazing, friendly and we’re very helpful with places and things to see and do. The locations was perfect and had easy access to areas that were of interest to us. Thank you!!

One-night stay

We stayed in a comfort double room. On the plus side, the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable with good pillows. Also, the bed linens and furnishings seemed relatively new and were attractive. Reception staff was welcoming and was helpful when asked for assistance. On the negative side, the bathroom is small and dark and it is difficult to take a shower without wetting 1/2 of the bathroom floor. Also, the room faces the pool area and so unless the curtains are drawn, there is little privacy from that area. Finally, (and this is an issue that can be easily addressed), we had to navigate around two areas of dog excrement in the pool area when moving our bags from our room to the parking area.

Fantastic secret in Betty's Bay

This is a hidden gem and my new Shangri La in Africa. Helene is a remarkably charming, knowledgeable and friendly hostess who welcomed us upon on arrival with some tasty morsels that were prepared for us. She also provided us with a some great tips on places to see and where to eat. The name of the property may be unnoticed but it does the experience full justice. Our apartment felt like home and no compromises were made when it came to comfort. Quite honestly, it was hard to leave. The destination, Betty's Bay, was stunningly beautiful and definitely one we will return to. Thank you so much Helene, for your hospitality. Your place is beautiful and I hope that many will be able to experience it.

Leider konnten wir in der Unterkunft nicht übernachten. Wir hatten die Übernachtung für 4 apersonen über Expedia gebucht und bezahlt. Als wir in der Unterkunft snkamen wurde uns gesagt dass der Preis für vier eigentlich deutlich jöher sei (statt 1100 Rand 1800) - wir also für unsere Kinder (3 und 5) noch zusaetzlich bezahlen sollten, obwohl diese bereits in der Buchung enthalten waren. Da wir nicht zustimmten wurde uns der Aufenthalt verweigert. Vorsicht vor Betrug! Noch haben wir unser Geld auch nicht erstattet bekommen. Es sei auch bereits das 4. mal gewesen, dass soetwss vorkam!

Don't miss this place!

We are amazed. What a welcome. We arrived a little early but nevertheless Helene greeted us with such joy we couldn’t believe it. We felt like arriving home. There was a black board who welcomed all guests arriving that day and each guests got something to drink and something homemade to eat. See the Pictures. The rooms are clean, and when I say clean, I mean clean clean :) She thought of everything, there is nothing in the room missing. From hair dryer, to tea, hot water, “what to do in bettys bay and around - booklet” and much much more. This is without doubt the best place you can go when driving the garden route! Don’t miss it. The home and location are beautiful and impeccably clean. The space in our room was very tight though, and did not include a mini bar that would have been welcome given the hotel is very isolated in nature. The bathroom though very clean was very basic. We also did not get any hot water. Maybe these details should be made clear prior. Very friendly staff and responsive to email. I would recommend the place to friends looking for a rustic experience.

The staff made our stay wonderful and so welcoming. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Having stayed for only one night, we did t get to enjoy the pool or their café but we really enjoyed their hospitality. Highly recommend.

A beautiful, quiet, out-of-the-way place

Lovely, well decorated inn with a stunning patio and yard. Our host was so kind as to drive us the 9k to the nearest delicious restaurant as we were travelling by bicycle. A short walk to the beach and a very quiet neighborhood. Morning breakfast was spectacular and filling.

Helen ist eine sehr engagierte Gastmama. Die Zimmer waren sauber und schön eingerichtet. Es ist sehr familiär und Helen weiß wirklich viele Tipps und Insiderinfornationen. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Frühstück war bei der Buchung nicht dabei, wurde von Helen gegen eine Gebühr angeboten. Es war mit Liebe zubereitet und schmeckte richtig gut.

Lovely place

We had a very pleansant stay at "Stay at friends". We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived and while having a delicious welcome snack Helen and her staff provided us with plenty of tips for trips in the surroundings. The room was beautifully furnished with a very comfy bed and a lovely pool right in front of our door.
