Bhongir fort
Bhongir or Bhuvanagiri fort is located ca. 50 km east from Hyderabad. Built in 12th century by local ruler Tribhuvanamahalla (hence the name Bhuvanagiri) Vikramaditya s on a vast egg-shaped monolithic rock rising 150 metres above terrain. Fortified by nature (shape of the rock) and by men (moats, walls, gates at the foot) it was almost unbreakable. Bala Hisar pavilon on top was built by Qutbshahi rulers of Golkonda kingdom
