A historic treasure in Southern Maine, very unique and spacious
The Sealander House was built by the City's Mayor in 1926. This historical home is full of old world charm, huge rooms, lots of large windows and drenched in sunlight. It features hardwood floors, a working fireplace, pocket doors, French doors, a huge dining room, 2 full kitchens, 2 gas grills, one on the back porch off the kitchen and one on the 2nd floor deck, a large inviting front porches, a large deck off the 2nd floor kitchen, a covered balcony. Lots of privacy with established gardens and a fire pit. The house sits across the Street from Clifford Park. An amazing home perfect for groups, vacations and celebrations. An easy day trip to Portland. The house is close to numerous beaches, a short drive to many popular tourists spots, 25 minutes from Portland and the University of New England is down the street.
I have a Eufy security system at The Sealander House. The cameras are external. My favorite pics so far have been wildlife.

This property is beautiful, it offered all the amenities and was super clean. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out or sit together and enjoy a meal. Great outdoor space And plenty of parking. Easy location to surrounding towns or downtown for us. It was a great location to our wedding venue. Also a great hostess!
Excellent location for our group - easy ride into Kennebunkport. House was beautiful and well maintained. Any questions etc were addressed in a very timely manner. Definitely recommend this location!!
Our family of 12 stayed very comfortably in this huge old home. The dining room accommodated us perfectly. We enjoyed the fire pit and gathering on the front lawn for games and s'mores in the evenings. A good time was had by all, 13-74 years old.
We enjoyed our stay at the Sealander House. It was the perfect spot for us to host a bridal shower. The space was open and bright and the second full kitchen was such an amazing help. The porches are gorgeous and the guests appreciated being able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. Laura was very responsive and helpful. Thank you!!
We had a great week at the Sealander. Our party of 16 included 9 adults and 6 children ages 18 months to 10 years. There was plenty of space for all. We enjoyed the front porch and yard as well as the living space inside. A/C was great. Plenty of parking for our 5 families. Mature plantings and trees provided privacy. Easy drive to beaches. Would definitely stay again
The Sealander House was perfect for a get-away workspace for our non-profit board of directors to hold our retreat. There were plenty of comfortable places for us to gather, work, discuss, and connect. We were all able to have our own beds (all eight of us)! The house is light, bright, huge but still cozy, and ideal for us. In fact, we would love to come back again next year!
We were a group of 10 friends, going to the New England area to see the autumn leaves since we are from Miami. The house is beautiful and very historical, the accommodations very comfortable, we especially enjoyed the garden and the sun room. Plenty of gathering spaces. The kitchen was fully equipped. The bathrooms with plenty of linens. Excellent washer and dryer and dishwasher.
Communication with the host was excellent, she is prompt and very pleasant. All in all it was an excellent stay.
We absolutely loved this old charmer of a house! The property is located in town, but it felt so remote and peaceful due to the trees surrounding the property. The house felt like walking around in a New England dream. The owner was so kind and accomodating and allowed for a little earlier check in as most of us were arriving at a variety of times. There were no crazy close down expectations when leaving. This property is close to so many activities and an absolute must stay!
Our family of 15 just stayed at the historic Sealander house and had a great time. The 6 bedrooms and 4 pull-out sofas provided more than enough sleeping options. Being 3 stories tall and temps near 90 all week I thought the house would be uncomfortably hot but AC units in the bedrooms and on each floor kept things very cool.
Laura responded quickly to any problems we had which made for a relaxing stay. I would highly recommend this house for a large group looking to visit Southern Maine as a matter of fact the family already booked for 2024!
We brought our kids and grandkids. Had 19 of us. There was plenty of space. Kids loved how much space room to run and, hide. We all enjoyed the woodchuck who lives under back porch. Location was good. Plenty of towels, toilet paper and trash bags. All appreciated. Only thing I would suggest is putting together 3 ring binder with suggestions for area. Local delivery of pizza etc. otherwise a wonderful place wood highly recommended
We had our daughter’s graduation and opted for everyone to stay together.
Pros:
Lots of room to spread out, 2 kitchens stocked for large crowds, wrap around porch , and fire-pit were lovely. Communication with host was immediate and very positive.
Cons:
Old lumpy/ squeaky mattresses, bed linens, pillows, and towels. Hot water inadequate for 12 people to stay there, advertised for 16. No working ice maker.
We stayed at this wonderful house for a family wedding being held in Buxton. This house was able to accommodate our family (10 adults) and we had plenty of room we could have invited more people! There is a nice sized yard in case you want to do something outside, complete with a fire pit. With three levels, there is enough room in this house to spread out and have quiet time if you want, even if you have a lot of people with you. This house is also well stocked/supplied, you only need to bring your luggage to enjoy your stay. There is a Chinese restaurant so close (and so tasty) if you're tired and don't want to cook. The restaurants and town center isn't that far either. The house has old world charm while having all the current amenities you would need. The owner is wonderful and easy to deal with, while replying quickly. We didn't have an issue at all while staying here.We would definitely recommend this house and wouldn't hesitate to rent it again.
We loved staying at the Sealander House. It is perfect for an extended family reunion. We found the gathering spaces plentiful and the beds comfortable. Laura is an excellent communicator, quick to respond to our questions and has been very accommodating. We would love to stay again!
Our stay at this house was excellent. There were many beds, and great indoor and outdoor space. Laura was very easy to work with and very responsive to any questions we had. I would definitely stay here again.
The check-in was easy, the host is lovely and responds quickly. The beautiful historic house is huge and with 3 floors, 6 bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms, 2 kitchens and a large deck adjacent to the 2nd floor kitchen, our family of eleven was very comfortable. There is a nice front yard and a large porch for many enjoyable evenings. The house is only a few minutes away from many beaches and the owner has thoughtfully provided all sorts of beach necessities for the guests to borrow.
