There is a ferry to nearby Appledore which boasts a Maritime Museum, alongside craft shops and boating and fishing trips. The adjacent Tarka Trail offers level coastal walking and cycling. Day excursions to Lundy Island operate from Bideford and is only a mere 3 miles away. Eden Project 1.5 hour’s drive.
