"The house is amazing. It was clean, spacious, kitchen was well stocked, and the beds were comfortable.There is a train that runs directly behind the house, but I feel if you stay in Mingo County, you will hear a train. We enjoyed watching the trains and some of the conductors will give you an extra "toot-toot"."

"The staff was very friendly upon arrival and they had all the paperwork ready for me. Checking in was easy! The room was very clean and well presented, all I needed was there. And the bed was so comfortable, it was hard to get up for the day! Air conditioning amd ceiling fan kept the temp just right for my dog and I. There were a lot of ammennities as well, including a nice outdoor patio with TVs, multiple outdoor sitting areas around fire rings, hot tub, corn hole, horse shoes, basketball, etc. Really enjoyed the place and would certainly go back as well as recommend this to anyone traveling to Breaks Interstate park or the nearby areas. Thank you!"

"The room was very clean, cleaner than most hotels I've been too and very affordable too.... hotels want more to rent a room than this beautiful place that's got wonderful mountain views You have about every amenity you will really need which was an awesome touch. The bed is incredibly comfortable. The AC is cold and the room had a excellent quality flat screen smart TV. The linens were nice clean and soft as well.Wifi signal was excellent. I would love to continue calling this my home away from home when visiting family in Grundy."

"Everything was excellent! It went beyond our expectations. It was very quiet and peaceful. The camper was stocked with everything you would need. We would definitely stay again. It was very cutely decorated.The hosts were quick in response if we had questions. There is a lot of history to be seen and explored in that area. Loved it!"

"Space is as pictured.Communication with the host was great - EXCEPT when all cell and internet lines were overloaded due to the large number of people who were in town for the special events the weekend of 6/11-14. I could only reliably get texts out and use the internet early in the morning and after midnight. The hosts have little control over this, but others need to be aware if they are coming into Matewan on a popular "event weekend", they may have communication issues.I loved that the apartment had NO smell. I often have trouble with hosts trying to make the space "smell good" by using plug-in air-scenting devices. I hate those. They assault my nose and eyes. I was SO pleased that there was no smell at all in the space.We did not use the kitchen - but it looked well stocked. We don't drink coffee, but I did notice there was a coffee maker available. I wish there had been Kleenex tissues available in the bathrooms.The whole house AC unit worked well. There were also stand-up fans in some of the rooms.We parked our car within the fenced-in space. Felt very secure.Matewan has an active rail line running through it. If you are a light sleeper, you will need to bring good earplugs. I got very little sleep thanks to the trains.I rated the value for the price at neutral. The town was totally booked. Thus, I ended up booking a place that can sleep up to 16 for just two people who would be spending very little time in the space out of necessity."

"This was an excellent place for our vacation. It was clean and well equipped for all your needs away from home. It would have been nice to have access to the garage for parking. I don't like to deal with 3rd party's when I have questions or problems. The host not once did a direct contact with us during our stay. If this is the new policy of VRBO I will be looking elsewhere."
