"Wonderful property with a great location. It was cold and rainy, so we didn't spend any time outside but the warm and dry views of the lake from the floor-to-to-ceiling windows in the living room and sunroom were fantastic. Great sleeping arrangements for 8 individual adults. Kitchen was well appointed with everything you might need. The whole house was clean and comfortable. The host was very responsive to pre-stay questions, and we had no issues during the stay. We are already looking to book for next year!"

"Don't overlook this little gem. It is an older hotel, but it is very clean and the staff is friendly. The rooms are spacious and they have taken time to update the rooms with stainless steel dormsize refrigerators and microwaves. The towels were soft and felt like new. The bathrooms were small, but very clean and inviting. There was even a little flower made out of toilet paper sealing the roll. There is a small breakfast area, but it included a decent variety, including cheese omelets. The food was kept very fresh and the counters and tables very clean and well maintained. If you are just looking for a friendly place to stay as you travel, don't miss this one. It's obvious the owners take a lot of pride in their hotel."

"This was a father/son trip.This was a great location for our purpose of wildlife photography in the area and beyond.We did not use some of amenities that were available, due to weather. The firepit area is set up for a great time around the fire. The rocking chairs on the back porch are perfect to observe the lake. We were hoping to get on the lake with the kayaks, but it was a bit windy(30 mph). It was a peaceful setting and beautiful area.We had to bring minimum for this trip, which made it much easier for us after a 13 hour drive to get there. Instructions for entry upon arrival was communicated well. It's a great place to stay and made this trip very memorable. So much better than a hotel."

"Had an impromptu large family gathering, and this property was just right for our large group. The pictures don’t do it justice, what a gorgeous view! The weather did not cooperate very well, but if you are going to hole up this is the spot to do it. Well stocked, comfortable beds, fluffy towels, and plenty of space for all. The kids enjoyed the downstairs bunk beds, football, and TV. Would definitely stay again!"

"This home is within walking distance of everything Ortonville has to offer. Property managers were willing to work with our Amtrak schedule as far as check in and out. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Would definitely rent again. "
