"ROOM GREAT BUT VERY SMALL & COMPACT AS WAS THE BATHROOM. GREAT LOCATION AND VERY PRETTY. ATE IN THE BAR AND FOOD WAS NOT THAT HOT AS PREPARED ELSE WHERE. TASTE AND FLAVOUR WERE GOOD THOUGH. DIDN'T TELL US KITCHEN WAS CLOSING SO WHEN WE ORDERED A DESERT COULD NOT GET ONE. MOTS PLACES COME AND ASK DURING THE MEAL IF THIS IS THE CASE. A GREAT PLACE TO STAY STILL ON A LONG TRIP."

"We loved our stay here, sadly it wasn’t for longer. A truly exceptional property, so spacious and nicely finished and beautiful. Andre was great at communicating with us and check in was easy. Had everything we need. A beautiful and peaceful accommodation and would love to stay here again."

"Nice for a short stay. Staff was friendly. Room was okay. Location was convenient across from a small market and quirky restaurants. Specifically chose the room with an air conditioner but the air conditioner unit vibrated the wall so loud that it was impossible to sleep. Debris from the tree above would also fall onto the tin roof very loudly. "

"Lovely staff, singling out Carmen and Felicia for special compliments! Food and service were good. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The views from the main lodge were outstanding. The pool was much warmer than our last visit in September 2004! We found Hog Hollow had lost a little of its rustic charm and was more like a hotel. "

"Beautiful peaceful, unique grounds and pool. Staff were all super friendly, helpful and gave recommendations for the area. The food and drink in the evening were slightly more expensive than we had paid elsewhere but was definitely worth it and was so convenient to just walk through the gardens to the restaurant each evening. A great base for Nature Valley and the Tsitsikamma Park. The only minor things were that the air con wasn’t working in the room but didn’t bother us as we had cool nights with rain and also the WiFi in the room was slow or dropped out but other than that we had a great time and would definitely recommend staying here. "

"We had an amazing stay at The Fernery. What makes this place amazing is the surroundings - overlooking the gorge and forest is nothing short of spectacular. The hot tubs and jacuzzis were incredible and we also made use of the spa which was wonderful too. The ladies there are fantastic. We thought the restaurant food was excellent and the staff serving there are great too."
