"Der Check In war gut, Gastgeberin und ihr Mann sind Herzensmenschen. DIe Lage ist zentral in Praia Vitoria. Im November ist das Haus kühl, wir haben gefroren. Die Gastgeberin stellte uns kleine Heizgeräte zur Verfügung, diese schafften es jedoch nicht warm zu machen. Wäsche waschen ist problematisch weil die Tür der Waschmaschine jahrelang geschlossen ist und dadurch „stockig riecht“, wir rochen dann wie nasse Hunde. "We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel!!! On top of everyone being super kind and helpful, the hotel itself is beautiful. Our room overlooked a beautiful church, we felt like we were in a movie. The room was spacious and our bed was very comfortable. The food and THE DRINKS AT THE TEXAN can’t be missed. The coffee and breakfast sandwiches… even the included breakfast.., you really can’t go wrong at this location. It has everything you need. 10/10 recommend and will be returning!!!"

"I have travelled a lot and this is the best hotel I have ever stayed at in my life! The staff was phenomenal and beyond helpful. We had trouble getting a taxi to the airport at a very busy time and the staff worked tirelessly until one was found. The property is lovely, the breakfast was superb and the room was beautiful! I would definitely stay here again without hesitation."

"HORRIBLE! DO NOT STAY AT THIS DUMP!!! This place is a run down, filthy dump. So bad we left after the first night. Black mold on the wall, peeling paint, dirty, terrible mattress, cracked shower so small you can’t turn around. Filthy stairwells. Cracks on the floor. The pictures they show of this place must be VERY OLD as they do not represent the current condition. Even the sign in the front was falling down. When we complained we were told they were full and couldn’t do anything…but there were still rooms available according to Travelocity. But looking around the halls and stairs were in such bad condition I doubt they even could have had a better alternative. They also couldn’t help us get the proper receipt for airline reimbursement so we will have to pay for the stay ourselves when it should have been covered by the airline due to flight cancellation. As we checked out I complained again and showed them my pictures of how bad the room was. The manager (who shook her head at how bad the photos are) only spoke broken English but in the end did promise to give us a refund…but it has been days and there has been no action and they are now ghosting my texts. I have no idea how they have gotten so many positive reviews. They must be manipulating them. DO NOT STAY HERE!"

"Beautiful views. Nice pool but could have been better maintained. Front desk staff lovely; very helpful. Unfortunately, breakfast buffet and their staff need work. Coffee machines often down, food would ruin our and there was sometimes a long wait. Staff was not always pleasant either. Definitely some training needed there."

"Great location. Great breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff. Easy parking in back. And our room was clean and roomy, as was the bathroom. Two nits which made me go with four stars instead of five: the shower floor/tub was incredibly slippery and there were no grab bars to hang onto for support. If we left the windows closed when we weren't in the room, we'd return to an odd smell. Not sure what it was...."
