Such beautiful setting close to amazing walks. Amazing swimming hole. Loved staying in a piece of history. Hosts were lovely and welcoming. Very comfortable amenities and great outdoor seating areas. 2nd time here and will definitely be back
The house was a refurbished lovely old miners cottage. Very comfortable and restful.
We had to supply our own sheets and towels which we found annoying considering we were from overseas and had to buy them.
There was no tea, coffee, milk etc also no information about wifi, TV or what to do with rubbish.
They need to specify to bring own linen and towels before payment is made.

Amazing cozy cottage, thoughtfully decorated and well equipped with everything you need for a good stay. Lovely setting close to reefton and backing onto the river. Thank you for your hospitality.
This was a lovely place to stay for 5 nights while we explored walking tracks around the Reefton area. It was a very short drive into Reefton for stocking up and charging our car. Chris is a great host.
Beautiful secluded property with mature trees and garden, with river at back of property.Very restful, charming and calming.House fully equipped with everything you'd need, with comfortable beds and sofa.Loved our stay and time spent at Black's Point museum. Would definitely recommend.
The bach is clean, comfortable, it has all we needed and an escape from the grind of city life.
There are great walks from the bach with local history. The museum is worth a visit.
We throughly enjoyed our stay and the host Chris was amazing and went out of his way to show us around. We would definitely be back again. Thanks Chris

Fabulous historic cottage. On a dead end road, right next to amazing walking tracks. Museum up the road is a must. Swimming hole at bottom of the garden in the river, bliss. Very homely and comfortable. Beautiful pottery around home from creative owner. A little tip, bring the insect repellent! Loved it here, would come back.
The communication with the owner was fast and let us check in abit earlier as our time management sucked haha but cottage was such a perfect little place. It had a portacot we could use for our babie had all utensils and only need to provide our food and linen. The river in the back was an awesome part of the stay. Location is nice and close to the museum and not far from town to stock up on tthe food. Such a nice stay would highly recommend and would definitely rebook. Wish could have stayed longer
House was very clean, radio playing on arrival was a lovely touch.
The property has two nice decks depending on where the sun is. House is a decent size with one bedroom even having a portacot in it.
River is at the end of the property and requires a little scramble down the bank (steps are wearing away) but was a great place to swim on a hot day.
Lots of sandflies as usual on the Coast but surprisingly much less aggressive than other places. Great walks across the road and good food in town.
Overall a great host and a great stay!

We really enjoyed this accommodation and it exceeded our expectations. My wife and I were in the area to ride Old Ghost Road, Te Ara Paparoa, and the Pike 29 Memorial Track. This accommodation was central and convenient for our agenda.
We really appreciated Chris and his responsiveness. When we needed help or something, he was super responsive, but we were also left to our peace. It was truly a charming cottage. The place appeared clean and was away from the chaos. It seems like it would be a great place for folks looking to fish on holiday.
I'd just throw out two things for folks considering staying:
1. Anyone over 1.83 meters is going to have a tough time with the bathroom area and the passing into that room of the house. The toilet area for a tall person feels exactly like it does when you're in the bathroom on an airplane with your head pressed up against the ceiling trying to maneuver your body for a proper aim.
2. There is no wifi. It doesn't state there is, so it is what it is, but I feel like wifi should at this point be a standard provided item. Either way, it's not, so plan for that. We had Google Fi, which ran off the Spark Cellular tower and provided us with one strong bar that allowed us to do anything we needed to, including streaming.
All in all, I'd stay here again. Really charming, peaceful stay. Thanks Chris!
Beautiful batch and the owner Chris is lovely. Very accommodating and such a spacious house with lovely decks to few the birds in the trees. Lovely river with a fine sad and rocks down the back of the property. Highly recommend and well definitely be back
