So peaceful!

This place exceeded our expectations! From the goats to the creek to the spacious and well stocked rental, we couldn’t have chosen a better location. Being as dog friendly as it is made it even better. We loved the goat snuggles, ATV ride, and even bought shirts to remember our visit. It was so quiet and peaceful and the views were gorgeous! Warren and Sylvia were wonderful hosts and we will absolutely be back again in the future!

Perfect Blacksburg Get Away

Beautiful home and location! Not only are the accusations clean, warm, and fun, there’s a striking view of Paris Mountain! (also the goats and donkeys, duh!)We had a great time and highly recommend staying here!

Such a nice weekend…

My family came up here to run the Hokie half marathon and we had a blast. This property was perfect and we loved feeding all the animals. Great time!

Relaxing, Comfortable and Convenient

We had a great stay at WGL! Everything you need is available at WGL, kitchen supplies, towels extra blankets and goats! Warren is an excellent host, available for anything you need and ready with ideas for activities on the farm or around the area. Super easy to get to Tech! And every other location in Blacksburg/Christiansburg. 100% will stay here again!

Truly a gem of a stay!

The stay at Wandering Goat Lodge was even better than imagined. Yes, the listing is thoroughly accurate, but it cannot do justice to the actual experience and accommodations. The rooms were clean, large, and nicely appointed. It was a comfortable stay from start to finish. One thing that stood out was the pullout couch and the addition of the extra mattress for supreme comfort. My son said it was super comfortable and unlike any other pullout couch he ever slept on! During the stay, the power went out in the county and surrounding areas. Warren was strongly committed to making sure that we were informed and comfortable. In fact, he offered to book a hotel room nearby if we wanted. We declined his generous offer, and he then provided us with snacks, games, candles, water, and a cooler for our convenience. Luckily, the power returned by 10pm, and all was well. However, Warren’s gracious response to Mother Nature’s hiccup was not forgotten. As for the property itself, the goats and donkeys were a joy to interact with and there was plenty of food provided with which to feed them. We took a number of pictures to document our fond memories. I found myself wishing that I had known about the WGL when my kids were younger(they are college students), as it would have been even that much more magical. I highly recommend booking a stay here, as you will not be disappointed.

Amazing

My family and I stayed here while my sons attended a camp at VT. Everyone loved it. Needless to say, we'll be booking again with them next year. We slept like logs and even got to hold newborn baby goats! Warren and his family were extremely accomodating and all around good people. Also, you have beautiful view from the fronch porch for when you're relaxing. I would highly recommend.

A peaceful stay in the beautiful mountains

Wandering Goat Lodge was everything it promised. We hiked around, fed goats, enjoyed a beautiful view, and stayed comfortably. Lodge had two beautiful bedrooms, decorated with antiques, and a fold-out couch. We watched Star Trek every night on satellite (tv was not Smart tv). Kitchen was well-equiped, but there is NOT a dishwasher. The bathroom was super nice! Loved our stay and the hosts were very helpful and kind.

My family and I stayed at the Wandering Goat Lodge in June. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! If you are looking for tranquility and the beauty of nature, this is it! It was clean, beautifully decorated, and had more than enough room for my family. It was also close enough to town that you could make a quick trip in if you needed anything. If you're looking for a VRBO stay that offers a beautiful location, incredible mountain views, and an atmosphere of pure relaxation, look no further.

Amazing place!

We had the most amazing stay at Warrens apt. Not only was the view spectacular, the place was extremely clean and had all accommodations one would need. The Donkeys and goats were a huge bonus! Let’s just say my 24 yo was in tears when she had to leave and said it was one of her favorite places. We will definitely be back!

Blue Ridge Peace & Quiet

Very clean, well appointed VRBO. Pet friendly. Goats (and babies) and donkeys - what's not to like. 15 mins from Virginia Tech. River/creek is clear and cold. Beds are comfy. Sat TV works well. Owner is very nice and available if needed. We highly recommend.

Perfect mountain getaway

The perfect mountain getaway! Conveniently located near town, yet offers a peaceful escape. The donkeys and goats were a real highlight. Amazing views! The space was cozy, well-appointed, and made us feel right at home.

Kids thoroughly enjoyed feeding the goats and donkeys and playing with Maggie the dog. Adults enjoyed the peace and quiet and amazing views. The property was very well stocked with all the kitchen essentials and the bathroom had plenty of toilet rolls, shampoo etc. Beds were very comfy and the whole weekend was relaxing and fun. Fully recommend.

Perfect stay close to everything

We were visiting friends in Blacksburg and this was the perfect place to make our home base. The goats and donkeys were a huge hit with our kids, we walked up the trail in the woods, and there were so many extras that we didn’t have time to take advantage of. We hope to return!

Excellent spot for your mountain fix

This vaction rental is located in a somewhat remote but beautiful location just north of Blacksburg, VA. It is a single level ground floor unit that is attached to the host's house. Guests enjoy a spacious indoor space as well as a lovely outdoor patio overlooking a working farm and stunning scenery. We could see that it would make a great spot for Tech fans to watch and celebrate games on the tv. The host is welcoming and has done an excellent job of meeting his guests' needs with a spotless, comfortable space inside as well as access to multiple activities on the farm. While these may cost a little, they seem like a fun way to expand a vacation. So if you're in need of the fresh air and beauty of a mountain town or you just visiting Blacksburg for another reason we would certainly recommend this comfy spot.

Charming getaway in the valley

We stayed at the Wandering Goat Lodge over the summer while our daughter was in a camp at VT. It was a beautiful spot and an easy drive to and from the campus. The week we arrived two baby goats were born and they were already jumping around by the end of the week. We had a great time with the goats and donkeys and enjoyed feeding them snacks every evening. The view of the mountains is beautiful and there was always animal activity going on, including wild deer that wandered up to the lodge. We definitely plan to return!
