Just as hoped for, this was a beautiful historic home — full kitchen, separate bedrooms for all, and full working kitchen. The pool was a wonderful extra luxury. The scenery is breathtaking and with many species of birds and plenty of deer coming through in the evenings and mornings. And hosts were amazing!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paris Mountain House. If you think there are downsides to staying in a beautiful, old house - there were none here. There are plenty of closets, outlets and lights. Our family had a wonderful time. The Bridal Party got ready at the house and there was more than enough space for everyone. The hosts provided many amenities such as iron & ironing board, espresso machine, coffee grinder, sauna, 3 full baths, washer & dryer, microwave and beautiful views and gardens. We would DEFINITELY stay there again.

We stayed here for the weekend while visiting our Hokie. The location was amazing! A working farm just minutes from VT and the history was really neat. They had everything we would need, plenty of towels, dishes, silverware.... We will definitely stay here again!

From the fireflies in the trees to the inquisitive deer that play nearby. This house has it all. There are 6 of us that plan a girls trip every year to various locations and this by far has been our favorite. The historic house itself has been kept in immaculate condition. There are flower gardens everywhere, chickens by the sauna and geese on the property. We enjoyed walking the property when taking breaks from the pool. Elizabeth was out of town, but Doug was awesome in taking care of our needs. The only thing negative I can say about this place is we had to leave!!

My daughter's wedding venue was down the road at Beliveau Farm Winery. This location was perfect for the many trips we took back and forth for the wedding and rehearsal. The property owner/manager is very communicative and helpful. I am a lover of old houses and this one is really special with lots of unique features. It is creaky, though, which might be difficult for really light sleepers. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We hope to stay again.

Several ladies had never been to a college football game so 2 of us moms decided to do a ladies weekend. The property was remarkably “out in the country” while still being within 10 min of downtown Blacksburg. It’s a working farm making this property so quaint and the vistas were stunning this fall! The property is an older historic property which adds to its charm; yet the amenities and details were modern and top notch. The bedrooms were spacious and there were 2 living spaces we didn’t even use! Elizabeth was so easy to work with - great communicator. Wonderful stay!

This property location was beautiful and very convenient to access the college. The house is very old. The floors are very sloped and the stairs are very steep and narrow. The rooms have been added over time. One of the bedrooms does not have a door between it and the other bedroom just a curtain. Was a bit of a privacy issue for our mixed group. The showers and toilets are all very stained due to the well water. The showers smell awful and no one wanted to use them. The kitchen sink water was also gag inducing and made the dishes smell too. Bring bottled water if your not used to old farm well water. There are few pans to cook with and no baking or pizza pans. It was difficult to cook here. The property was beautiful and had nice walking paths. Never found the sauna. Pool was closed for the fall.

Fall in the Virginia mountains is simply wonderful. The Paris Mountain House brought back memories of being on my old farm, complete with chickens, cows and good ol' roosters crowing in the morning. The house is filled with history and a walk from room to room reveals the various stages of its build. Cozy as can be, we were two couples visiting for a Va Tech reunion who were extremely comfortable in both the accommodation and the utility of the house. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable, the baths were great and the house was - well, cozy as an old house should be. Thank you, Elizabeth, for the warm welcome!

Our stay at Paris Mountain took place in early October and was absolutely delightful. Our party consisted of three single adults, but the house can easily accommodate three couples. The Paris Mountain home is beyond charming, both inside and out. The amenities, comfortable beds, well-stocked kitchen, and beautiful country charm exceeded our expectations. The lawn, gardens, meadow views and fauna (including chickens, roosters, geese, deer and livestock), could not have been more delightful and picturesque. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. We think the house is best suited to adults and older children. We're grateful to the owners for maintaining this historic place and sharing it with others. It's wonderful!

We were in need of a place to stay in the area so that we could attend a wedding in Blacksburg. The Paris Mountain house could not have been better suited to our needs - it was well-equipped with many thoughtful touches from the soaps and shampoos to the cozy bathrobes and abundant pool towels. It is a beautiful home and working farm surrounded by spectacular scenery. Oh and the chickens are full of personality and so fun to watch! We loved having access to the sparkling salt water lap pool and sauna as well. And we so appreciated the values that underpinned the farm operations. To a person, everyone was so grateful and happy to have such lovely and lovingly preserved accommodations - we highly recommend and will definitely be back when we can!

This house had so much charm and character that it truly took my breath away. The kitchen was stunning with a gas range that (literally) sparkled when we walked in. There was plenty of glassware, plates, serving platters (galore), and table space (TWO dining rooms) to allow us to host a birthday dinner for my daughter and her friends. The children also had a chance to learn about the history of the house and see old artifacts that made us VERY thankful for the unique updates. There was a gorgeous bathtub that we all took turns to use. The second bathroom upstairs was super cute with faucets that were uniquely placed. The third bathroom downstairs kept remnants of the original house, truly showing the history of the masonry at that time.
Though we did not get to use the sauna and pool this go-round (rented during the winter), we loved the artistry throughout the gardens and grounds. I'm sure it is beyond stunning in the springtime! The house supports sustainable products and provided us with a compost bin, making it super easy to clean up after hosting a dinner.
If you need to rent a place in Blacksburg, this should be high on your adventure list. It was beyond worth the price for my daughter's birthday celebration.

Visited the Blacksburg area with family on Labor Day weekend. We spent most of Saturday in Blacksburg (10min drive) tailgating and going to the VT football game but were able to enjoy the house and surrounding grounds the rest of the weekend. We especially enjoyed the pool and relaxing Mountain View. Our 2 year old son loved the chickens and geese and walking on some short trails up to the back field and down to the river. Since this area is protected wildlife area we would walk out at sunset and see 40+ deer in the adjacent field. The house is surrounded by beautiful plantings and landscaping with lots of butterflies and bumble bees. The owners home is on property adjacent to the bnb and they and other farm hands are around feeding animals and doing other misc tasks but we never felt like they were invading our space. The house is beautiful and has a really neat history. The owners have exposed some of the original cabin(s) features which is really cool. Since it’s an older home it does have some quirks (unlevel floors, stairs, some low head room), but cool space. We traveled with a toddler (with 5 adults) and the house suited our needs, but wouldn’t consider all rooms super young kid friendly as most of the furniture are nice antiques and there are some breakable pieces in the house. There is a library with some interesting books, a large game table and board games. We enjoyed, and would stay here again especially in the summer when we can enjoy the pool and outdoor areas.

My family and I reserved the Manor House for a Virginia Tech graduation for two nights. Once we arrived, we were dismayed to find the property overrun with large flies, infesting every room on the first floor. The home was completely uninhabitable and egregious. We were shocked by the infestation and even more shocked by the customer service we received from the hosts who live on the property and could see that there was INDEED an infestation in the home. We spent the first hour at the property killing flies and arguing with the hosts.
When we first told Elizabeth about the flies, she claimed that pest control already checked it out and that all she could do was provide a fly swatter. Later, her husband came to the property and blatantly disregarded our concerns about the flies. He disrespectfully said, "What do you want me to do about it," "Have you never seen flies before," "Do they not have flies where you come from," "They're only downstairs so you can still sleep upstairs." After we mentioned the diseases posed by flies, especially with our 14-month-old baby present, he promised to clean up before our return from dinner. We returned to find that not only were there more flies swarming the entire first floor, but they began traveling upstairs because, as flies do, they followed the lights. Also, all the flies we had killed previously were still on the floor, not cleaned up AT ALL. Long story short, we did not sleep there, and I'd recommend that no one else do the same.

The property is amazing. Hard to beat a 400 acre farm off Luster's Gate in the Valley. No qualms. While my expectation for a historic house was tempered, there was a lot left to be desired as far as the overall accommodation. Our family of two adults and two kids under 7 could not find one room to comfortably sit/relax. The main room where the one TV in the house is located sits in a fishbowl of windows with little privacy, but perhaps conveniently situated so the owners of the home next door in the "other house" could keep a watchful eye on their guests. The WIFI was akin to a dialup connection and again, the seating area was comfortable for one, not two or four. There were 3 wooden chairs, a loveseat couch and a bench. None of the power outlets in the main master bedroom worked so we were left to run an extension cord to power our phones, humidifier and other appliances at night. The house may have been updated elegantly, but the beds had to be close to original from the 1800's. Have never stayed at property with less comfortable beds. Not exaggerating, completely awful. We left a night early to get a decent nights rest. I travel a lot, the beds were egregiously uncomfortable, old and basically like sleeping on a box spring. Beware. Last and probably most disappointing was a shower that didn't drain. Nothing more gross than a shower up to your ankles in water. Nevermind the eco/green vibe with used bars of soap in every shower and sink. no thanks.

We had a great time staying here for a long weekend visiting our daughter in Blacksburg. The pool was very nice, everything was very well kept and the location is far enough in the country to be very relaxing but still close enough to town to get groceries or whatever else you might need. The kitchen was very well appointed and there was plenty of room for our whole group, which ended up being 6 adults for most of the stay.
