"This hotel was the perfect spot to explore Thun. You’re literally at the castle, and the included breakfast in the courtyard was lovely. The staff was very friendly and attentive. There is air conditioning when it’s very hot which was nice for us because it was quite hot! Take the elevator up unless you want to arrive as haggard as we were. It’s close to the waterfront restaurants and bars, the beautiful old wooden bridge, and a nice little walk takes you over to the lake. "

"Can't say enough good things about our stay. We enjoyed it so much we extended an extra 2 days (stayed 5). The breakfast buffet is the best we've had in 2 months. The staff are friendly and will do whatever they can to make your stay enjoyable. Kandersteg is a lovely village that's not overrun with tourists. There's great hiking in the area and it's convenient to the other, more well known areas."

"We took the train to Thun and then the bus to the hotel (bus stop is right outside). It’s a lovely hotel with amazing views over the lake. We were upgraded to a larger room with a balcony overlooking the lake which was just so calming to sit out on and relax (even if it was raining as the balcony was sheltered). The room was a little old fashioned, we had booked a more modern room but the upgraded room whilst larger was the old style. However, this was made up for by the views. Staff were very friendly and sorted us out with free bus passes. We ate at the Italian nearby which I would recommend. We then took the bus on to Interlaken which is another scenic journey (sit on right on bus!)"

"Honestly this is the best hotel we have stayed in Europe by far! The view is stunning, room is spacious, clean & comfy. They have the most delicious breakfast buffet with very nice and professional staff. Also need to mention the male front desk staff who did check-out process for us was super friendly and even gave us some water and a jam. Small things make hospitality memorable ;) "

"Staff were warm, helpful, friendly and courteous. The view of the lake, snow capped mountains and nearby old church was exactly what I desired and very breathtaking. Transportation was accessible to other areas as the bus stops were close by. We were also very happy to be surprised by the hotel with area bus passes to the surrounding areas, this made getting around a whole lot easier and we are very grateful for that. After visiting Interlaken and Grindelwald, which were very congested with other tourists, we were certainly extremely happy with our decision to stay at Bellevue Au Lac. We had a most pleasant stay, Hotel Bellevue Au Lac would definitely be our first choice if we decide to return to the area. "

"Amazing view of the Thun lake and Spiez castle from the property. Very unique place to stay, offering a perfect Swiss experience. Close to all tourist destinations like Grindelwald, Istelwald, Jungfrau. Well connected by bus and train. The staff provided a bus pass so we didn't have to walk to the train station. Good weather in May made our stay in the comfy room with a scenic view memorable. Make sure you check and book the room as they have multiple categories of lake view rooms. The best view is from higher floors. Ours had a view partially blocked by a house. "
