Great staff and location. Rooms are on the small side and the hotel is in the process of renovating them. Restaurant with hotel is good, and offers in-room service.

Quel gâchis - c'est dommage

Un site de rêve, dans une citadelle charmante. Bonne restauration bien qu'un peu chère Mais des chambres glaciales dans la décoration cassent la belle ambiance (malgré une belle salle de bains) La piscine au milieu du restaurant (et avec des transats au ras de notre fenêtre : ce n'est plus vue sur la piscine, c'est vue sur les estivants et ron ron de leur conversation)

Tired and weary

Have been staying for 25 years of more but could no longer recommend to the many friends who have also stayed Whilst the young man on reception on arrival was very helpful, the check out man was aggressive and uncaring especially over room condition and we were disappointed that breakfast was cleared before 10 am without warning thus not allowing us to complete ( at 15 euros each) The upper floor bedroom left much to be desired in that it smelt very badly of a serious drain problem with no extractor fan in bathroom . Beds had both seen better days and were warn out and the whole décor and was very tired and weary. Food was OK and well presented and served.

Bo uppe i borgen med fantastisk vy!

Lilla lilla sömniga staden Blaye gömde en pärla till boende uppe på Cittadellet! Vilken miljö att bo i, vyn över floden och parken med musikkonsert! Blev ett perfekt läge en varm augustidag och kväll med övergående åskbyar och sol igen! Vi åt lyxig och kanske lite dyrt uppe på hotellets resturang, men miljön var värd allt! Poolen höjde värdet! Rummen ok, inte stora och lite som standard som Scandic väghotell! Vi åt på lokal restuarang nere i byn och blev positivt överraskade! Enkel, god och prisvärd mat! Vi tog frukost på hotellet som också var lite dyr! Men ändå läget utomhus vid poolen och vyn, gjorde att det kändes rätt!

Un moment sympa dans un lieu apaisant

Un séjour dans un cadre historique et unique au sein même de la citadelle. L'hôtel est agréable et les chambres confortables. La restauration est soignée. Le beau temps nous a permis de manger dehors avec une vue splendide sur l'estuaire de la Gironde

hotel in wonderful location

This is the fourth time we have stayed at the Citadelle. It is in a superb location on the banks of the Gironde with spectacular views. Rooms are large and well appointed with views of the pool or the river. evening meal in the restaurant was excellent as always and breakfast is also good.
