We were privileged to meet a retired local gentleman by the name of Lindsay. He directed us to the museum in Mahebourg, the river washing by locals and the most delightful restaurant for the best noodles in town.

"The apartment was very shabby and not overly clean. The tea towels were grubby, a lot of the light bulbs had blown and air con didn’t work. Kitchen very basic with a broken microwave."
