Welcome to the Andrew Behm cabin,
Visitors to the cabin will enjoy a peaceful rural experience while viewing the breathtaking views of the rolling foothills of Adams County. Named after the first family to settle the land in the 1800’s, Behm Mountain Cabin is a relaxing spot in the wilds of Adams County, Ohio. The cabin is reconstructed from the original stones and hand-hewn logs of several historical structures, originally built over 100 years ago. Relax in front of the wood burning fireplace and enjoy a peaceful night's rest on one of the three queen beds with pillow-top mattresses. Behm Cabin sleeps up to 6 people - great for a family retreat. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen with unique concrete and antique counter spaces; if you choose to cook everything you need is available. There are two full bathrooms with tiled showers and provided linens. The master bath has an antique sink and rock counter. Behm is intentionally low-tech, however there is a T.V. on Dish Network and a DVD player provided. If you need phone service, please bring your cell phone. Our cleaning charges are included in the base price, so there is no additional added at check-out!!

The property includes 40 acres with abundant wildlife and some walking paths. The area is a peaceful place to grill-out and sit at the picnic table under the timber framed gazebo. You can also relax by the fire pit and stargaze or let the kids catch fireflies. Complimentary firewood for fireplace and outdoor fire pit is provided.

There are several attractions all located 30 minutes or less from the cabin. The world famous Serpent Mound, the Wheat Ridge Amish Community and shops, the Edge of Appalachia and Arc of Appalachia nature preserve hiking trails, Chaparral Prairie and Davis Memorial hiking trails, Ohio Brush Creek which is great for canoeing, kayaking and fishing, Adams Lake State Park, Shawnee State Park, Mineral Springs Lake, and the Adams County Quilt Barn trail.

Private and cozy cabin

The cabin was updated and decorated very nicely. It sits on a large property with a few paths to walk. It was well stocked with kitchen and bathroom items, as well as wood for burning. Nice little hideaway place that has a few solid trails nearby. We really liked the Buzzards Roost trail.

Great Getaway

My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here, pictures do not do the cabin justice. If you want an early settlement feel with modern amenities, this is it.

Best Little Cabin

WE LOVED THIS CABIN!!! We arrived late in the evening and the directions the owners provided were so amazing that even in the dark in an unfamiliar area we had no trouble locating the cabin. Secluded!!!! You definitely cannot see or hear any other houses or people from this property!!! We had an fire our first night there with the provided supplies(husband loved that he didn't have to gather/chop/pay for wood). Beautiful cabin. Plenty of space for a small group but wasn't too big for just us too. The old timey barn and wood working decor was some of our favorite. We cooked on the grill our second night which made clean up a breeze. Let me tell you this cabin was CLEAN, and I mean that. If you are looking for a little get away from everything this is absolutely the spot.

The cabin was truly unique, comfortable and extremely well appointed. Extremely nice! The Atkins were great hosts A great experience all the way around. Be advised----when they tell you NOT to use your GPS navigation system and to use Google maps instead to find the cabin, believe them!

Wonderful stay at this lovely mountain cabin.

The Andrew Behm Cabin is a beautifully restored heavy timber-framed cabin that is located on a tranquil hilltop among the forests of southern Ohio. Its proximity to the many lovely nature preserves and excellent local hiking trails made it particularly attractive to us retirees who were looking to go birding, botanizing, and exploring the local area. It was a pleasure to return to the comfortable environment of the cabin at the end of a day of activity and just completely relax. We highly recommend it.

Hunting trip

Property was very clean and had that warm cabin feel too. Definitely would stay again at this property. If you are planning on hunting the Tranquility area the deer population is very sparse. EHD seems to have significantly reduced the population. Other areas such as brush creek or Shawnee may be a better choice.

Beautiful and secluded

The cabin is more beautiful in person than in pictures. Inside is very well thought out and has everything you would need. Very well taken care and very clean. The bathroom showers are amazing! The beds were if I was sleeping in my own bed. We loved this cabin so much. It was so warm and welcoming. Can't wait to be able to come back! Thank you for the muffins too! 😊

The cabin was absolutely gorgeous. Spotless, very well equipped for cooking and being comfortable. It’s so cozy and the hosts thought of every little detail like a small DVD library, some board games, outdoor blankets… We met Serpell and she was very friendly and helpful, quick and responsive. We had a great stay and would love to go again. This is definitely going to be on my permanent list.

Just what we needed.

The cabin and property are just as described. The cabin has a rustic feel, but has all the amenities one needs. It's very clean and very comfortable. The property is remote and private. One must follow the instructions sent, not your GPS for the final driveway, but it's clear with those instructions.
