Ocean waterfront summer cottages. Sit back and soak in the views

The beach cottages (two) are located 3 miles south of Blue Hill. The cottage is on 3 acres of land and right on the waters edge. We can accommodate up to 8 people with 4 bedrooms in total. Each cottage is self contained cottage includes ac living room, kitchen and bathroom and two bedrooms.

The place has four bedrooms in total. Two bathrooms. Two rooms with Double debs, two rooms with single beds. It has an open plan living room and kitchen. Gas stove, Fridge, wifi internet, a deck and outdoor seating and outdoor table, with 2 BBQ's, one gas and other wood fire on waters edge (Lobstah cook outs)....The cottages walls are not insulated, making them typical Down East rustic summer cabins. We are in a semi-rural setting so we have plenty of wildlife. See photos. The views are amazing!

Loved staying in the cottages. The location is incredibly beautiful and serene. We rented kayaks and went out multiple times per day and even spotted dolphins a couple of times. The cottages are rustic, but had everything we needed. Easy access to groceries, restaurants, etc in Blue Hill and not a far drive to Bar Harbor/Acadia.

A group of us rented this property to stay for a local wedding. The owner, Michael, was very responsive and accommodating and we had a comfortable, enjoyable stay. Highly recommend.

We loved the double cottages for our July vacation with kids and grandkids. They have a traditional rustic style and are well equipped for cookouts on a gas grill as well as campfires looking out over the water. The lawn was spacious for bocce and frisbee and the access to the rocky waterfront was enjoyed by all. We found wonderful hikes nearby and swam in fresh water at Walker Pond. We enjoyed learning the pattern of the tides, and access to the stony beach was great for the kids.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time in the two cabins, sharing one with good friends of ours. Delicious cookouts every evening by the glowing fire pit with amazing Maine skies as a backdrop. The waterfront was a safe and fun place for our ten year old children to explore. Cannot wait to return next summer. Thank you Michael.

We were blown away by the incredible water views just behind the two cottages that make up the listing. The cottages were basic (no TV but we didn't miss it at all) yet quite charming. Everything we wanted/needed was provided. The location was excellent with great local seafood places and grocery nearby. No crowds in Blue Hill like there are in Bar Harbor (about an hour's drive). Lots of hiking options nearby. We'll be back!

The owner had a series of unfortunate events on the property during our stay. He responded to my emails in a timely fashion and did his best to correct the problems. He provided fair compensation for the the issues we encountered.

We visited the Blue Hill area to attend a local high school graduation and spend time with military friends in the area. Other than the graduation we did not have an agenda. We spent one day visiting nearby Acadia National Park and it's amazing views. The other days we spent at the cabins! The view of the ocean is the perfect backdrop to sit on the deck and read a book or watch for local wildlife. We spent lots of time combing the shore during low tide for shells, sea glass, and sea "creatures" as the kids would say. At night the view of the stars was the best I've ever seen. Tried some local delicious lobster cooked in the lobster pot over the fire. It had everything to escape the hustle and bustle of evryday life. A wonderful family vacation surrounded by all that Maine nature has to offer. The owners always answered any questions I had prior to arrival in a timely manner. They were also very helpful with suggestions of nearby attraction/facilities while staying at their amazing property. Was a great experience all around. Hope to return again in the future

I'm almost reluctant to write a review, as this property is a secret gem and we'd like to keep it that way! But, in the spirit of sharing... Our family of four (with two young boys) and another couple, after meeting Maine's reasonably rigorous testing requirements, shared a wonderful seven days at these Blue Hill cottages. Right off, it must be noted that being able to rent two cottages, for a single price, on a large and secluded property with 200' of private beachfront, is itself a singular opportunity. Our children loved beach-combing and kayaking (boats are available for delivery from a nearby livery) and nightly fires in the outdoor pit. The view of the bay and Long Island is lovely, the water pristine. The cabins themselves are exactly as described: rustic, on the small side, and unadorned, but exceptionally clean, cozy, and well stocked. We had everything we needed for lobster feasts, grilling, and big breakfasts. The beds are comfortable and there's plenty of clever storage. Absolutely essential was the excellent wifi, which worked seamlessly for those of us who needed to put in some work hours via web conference. The location, between the charming towns of Blue Hill and Brooklin, and only about 30 mins to Acadia, allowed us to fill our days with both planed adventures and spur-of-the-moment excursions. Our kids loved seeing porpoises, seals, and even a porcupine! Last, but not least, communicating with the owner and property manager was a stress free (even fun) experience. Michael was very generous with his local knowledge and made sure everything was acceptable throughout our stay. We look forward to visiting again.

Having access to both cabins as part of the booking makes for a really special experience, especially for when it’s multiple members of an extended family staying there (as was our case). There was some outdated info on the vrbo listing, such as the wifi and the contact info, so one day when we weren’t sure if we’d turned the coffee pot off it was difficult to figure out who to contact - though this was mostly our fault for not writing down the phone number posted inside the cabin itself. (And we ended up driving back to check the coffee pot.) The cabins were definitely on the rustic side, but everything was pretty much as expected. Overall a fun stay! Beautiful view, great cabins, perfect summer vibes. Just don’t forget bug spray!

Our stay was fantastic. The property was as listed, great views, charming cottages and an excellent host. I had reservations about booking thru an app like VRBO, as I have always booked through an agency but after this trip I feel confident in doing so. Michael, your place is a slice of heaven, we enjoyed our time immensely. If you ever want to sell, I'd be willing to listen😊

We loved our stay in Blue Hill! The views of the water were outstanding! It was an easy day trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia. The cottages had everything we needed for a relaxing week to reconnect as a family. We traveled with two teens, a ten year old and two dogs. This two cottage property was prefect for us. We all loved their Maine vacation. We already can’t wait to go back.

This place was perfect for our group of 2 small families with little kids. The cabins were definitely rustic but we settled in to that and were very comfortable for our week. The location is incredible being right on the water. We found starfish! We ate extremely well in the area and discovered tons of cute places to go. Thanks to Michael for this wonderful spot!

Our visit was the last week of September/first week of October – pretty much the end of the season! This was a great home-base for us as we explored the mid-coast during the day, and then came home and relaxed in the evening. Our one-year-old dog loved the grounds and was able to run off a lot of her puppy energy in the yard, without us having to worry about traffic or neighbors. Even though the cabins are not insulated, we were plenty comfortable with the space heaters and electric blankets (all provided)! Great location! Comfortable space! “Extremely” attentive hosts! We highly recommend this place for your next stay in Maine!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at these two cozy, rustic (but well equipped) cabins on the water. They are great for close families. We enjoyed fishing, cooking over the campfire, eating at the picnic tables, kayaking, and beachcombing at low tide. We saw porpoises, a bald eagle, a deer, a turkey and her chicks, and loons. We hope to return before too long!

Our family of six including kids aged 8 months to 7 years spent a very relaxing week at this property. The cottages are small but very well appointed and really all you need for the location. We did spend a lot of time moving between the two cottages as the thing we needed always seemed to be in the other cottage. But that was absolutely fine as it was an excuse to get outside which is why we were there to begin with. We brought three kayaks of our own and we spent most of our time paddling around right in front of the cottages or up to the sandbar about 100 yards south along the coast. The tides are dramatic at this site! Be ready to carry your kayaks a long way at low tide and make sure you pull them up high for the high tide! The yard includes a gas grill and a rudimentary fire pit which was used every night mostly to toast marshmallows. There is a rental property very close to the north edge of the property but we were lucky to have a very nice family from Ohio staying next door. We did spend two days in Acadia which is about an hour's drive from this property. But, if I'm honest, I enjoyed Blue Hill far more. Too many people in Acadia! In short, if you're looking for a getaway and enjoy the ocean, this property is for you. You will feel like you are million miles from civilization, but you can just drive across the street to get succulent lobsters. Highly recommended!

The location is just perfect for those who love the water and being away from it all yet close enough to wherever your interests take you. What was originally planned with four teenagers and our dog turned into myself and my two sons who loved having their own cottage. The first morning I was up just after sunrise and wandered a few feet down to the water to see an eagle flying past me....a great way to start a vacation. We spent several days visiting Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor, kayaking in the fog which was surreal to say the least, antiquing and just enjoying all the surrounding towns. Back at the cottages we grilled dinner each night and the boys loved their bonfires. On our last night we heard the crows being a bit feisty so we went outside to find an eagle perched on top of one of the pine trees. I just can't say enough about how peaceful and serene this location is and loved waking up every morning to sit outside with my book and breakfast. The owners were always very prompt in their replies to any of my questions prior to the trip. I would most definitely come back here again and have already told my friends about this little gem!
