Choosing a Blue Ridge mountain cabin rental can be bewildering when there are so many fabulous options, each with a great location, wonderful ambience, and a picture postcard view. Many of them will be just what you're looking for, but they're just not large enough to accommodate your whole family or group of friends. That's why Bearway to Heaven is so ideal. This spacious mountain showplace offers everything you crave, with room for everyone you love.
Perched on a forested hillside with an absolutely breathtaking view of the lush green mountains in the distance and Lake Blue Ridge shimmering below, this magnificent log home is surrounded by the glory of nature, and close to all the outdoor activities that the Aska Adventure Area has to offer. Inside, its cathedral ceilings and huge windows let in light, create an open and airy feel, and maximize the view. Sunrises are especially spectacular!
Tastefully decorated with comfortable furniture that invites you to kick back and relax, with ceiling fans providing a cooling breeze, the cabin has a warm and cozy ambiance that makes you feel at home from the moment you enter.
The main floor family room is the place to gather and relax in front of the stone gas fireplace to watch the DISH Network-equipped 49” TV. Downstairs, the rec room is another great place to hang out, with board games and a 50” TV for your entertainment pleasure. When it's time for meals, you'll find everything you need to cook for and serve a crowd in the fully-stocked kitchen, which has an electric stove and oven, refrigerator with icemaker, a crockpot, drip and Keurig coffeemakers, and plenty of cabinets. The dining table has room for six, plus four at the kitchen counter.
Or you can fire up the gas grill and dine under the stars out on the deck, where the picnic table seats 4. You can take in the view from a rocking chair or roast marshmallows over the fire pit, which has five colorful Adirondack chairs encircling it. Or just enjoy the night soaking in the hot tub under the stars.
After the day's activities, you'll slumber in comfort in one of five comfortable bedrooms, each with luxurious bedding and a unique quilt. The upstairs master bedroom has a king bed, private porch, 43” TV, and a private bath with dual sinks, a jetted tub, and a walk-in shower. The two main level bedrooms have queen beds, and one has deck access. So does one of the downstairs bedrooms, which has a king bed. The second downstairs bedroom has full-size bunk beds, perfect for kids. Both the main level and downstairs bathrooms feature a tub and shower combo.
Other amenities include a washer/dryer, and for your youngest family members, a high chair, toys, and a Pack 'n Play. But the best thing about Bearway to Heaven is the blissful way you'll feel when you're there, and the memories of that feeling that you'll take home with you.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful. It was spacious & the views of the woods were peaceful & serene. The porch was my favorite part! The one-way street up the mountain to the cabin was kind of nerve wracking if you're not used to it, but luckily we didn't have an issue meeting another car on the way up or down. The only downside was that all of the mattresses were pretty uncomfortable.
This was a great property for our group size (7 adults, 3 kids including an infant). Super close to grocery stores, downtown areas, and hiking. The home and property seem well maintained (aside from the fridge), and our group was able to enjoy time on the big patio and hot tub. We would definitely stay at another one of their properties in the future.
When we arrived the refrigerator had two broken shelves and drawers. I reached out to management, but nobody ever got back to us about it. We were able to make it work for the weekend (we cook all of our meals), so this was the only negative aspect of our stay.
I would stay at this place 1 million more times. The location of the cabin, the ambience of the place is absolutely outstanding. The staff were extremely helpful when we needed two items and were answering literally within minutes. My one letdown is that the main room which is pictured in the listing has a fireplace in the main bedroom. However, that fireplace is decoration only and not for use. One of the biggest things we were looking for is a fireplace in a master bedroom. Again only to find out that it was decoration only. Other than that, everything was above exceptional.
We had a great time! We got to do our bonfire with s'mores, play pool and air hockey, but the best part for me was the hot tub. The whirlpool bath didn't work but that hot tub was more than enough!
Our family consisted of my husband, myself, our three children, spouses, and grandchildren. The house was lovely with plenty of room. We all rode on the four hour Blue Ridge Railway and that was lots of fun. The cabin is in a great location with all the hiking trails and waterfalls close to the cabin. We enjoyed shopping and looking around in the quaint town of Blue Ridge. We had a very wonderful stay!
We celebrated our family Christmas at Bear Branches. Although I was a bit disappointed that the owner/property management company didn't provide any holiday decorations, we bought and brought our own tree and boxes of our own decorations and transformed the cabin into a Christmas delight! There was plenty of room for our group, and lots to do within reasonable distance. The porches were great, and we had a roaring fire in the firepit each night, and enjoyed time in the hot tub. Overall, a wonderful experience!
Our family gathered at Bear Branches to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. The lodge was spacious enough to easily house 11 of us for five days. Lots of activities were planned and scheduled ahead of time, hiking, dining reservations in Blue Ridge, a train ride to Copper Hill and back, a trout fishing experience, and we had plenty of downtime at the lodge. A favorite for everyone was the fire pit outback in the evenings, making s’more’s, telling stories, sharing thoughts, etc.
The perfect place for great family time!
We very much enjoyed this home. It was nicely decorated, and well stocked. The property was very clean, and the management company was very easy to deal with. Would absolutely recommend this property to others.
Our family booked this for a short stay and overall the property was very nice. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space if you have a large family. It was a bit overkill for our family of 4 but would be nice for 2 families renting together. Our family enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub. The property was very peaceful and we loved having coffee or a glass of wine on the porch.
One recommendation is if you like to sleep-in at all, I do not recommend sleeping in the master as my hubby and I were awoken by the sun much earlier than we would have liked to have gotten up on the first morning. It would have been nice to close curtains or blinds.
I'd recommend the property manager keep certain items in the house as we had to basically buy everything - salt, pepper, cooking spray, etc. In some of the past homes we've stayed in, it was nice to find some of the basics already in the home as we weren't going to travel with these items.
We did enjoy our time here although we didn't sleep in :)
This cabin is absolutely beautiful! It was very peaceful and we enjoyed the game room!
Renting the cabin was a breeze! We rented on very short notice and the office lady called me to confirm everything and give me updates! Definitely will book again!!
Bear Branches is in a great location. We were happy with the layout of the rooms. We were disappointed in the cleanliness when we entered...candy wrappers and gummy bears stuck to the bedding. Another disappointment was the large green egg that was pictured was not working. We had brought a large prime rib to cook but had to do it differently. Should take the picture off the site. While we loved the look of the main floor living, the chairs are uncomfortable so we had to sit on pillows.
We really enjoyed our cabin stay! The cabin had everything we needed for cooking, playing games and relaxing. The only negative comment I have is the floor on the main level was dirty and some of the glasses in the kitchen cabinet were either broke or cracked. Other than that, we had a great weekend at the cabin!
Such a great cabin for a family vacation! Everything was clean and ready for use. We had a great time hiking trails and exploring downtown just a few minutes away. Check in/out was very simple. Hope to make it back to Blue Ridge soon!
