River Haven on the McKenzie

It's hard to get any closer to the river without getting wet!
This beauty has a huge covered porch that sits right on the river's edge and a dining nook with that same perspective. In fact, you still feel that close to the river in the large living room as you're enjoying a cozy fire in a real fireplace. There's also a large screen TV with satellite service.
There's a nicely equipped kitchen with full size appliances and a laundry room too.
The master bedroom is downstairs and it offers a king size bed.
The full bath downstairs offers a full size tub/shower.
Upstairs, there is another half bath and another bedroom with two twin size beds.
The couch in the living room is a sleeper sofa, so this house can take as many as 6 guests.
This home is so cozy and private that you might not want to leave, but we are surrounded by the bountiful Willamette National Forest. In fact, the world famous "Three Sisters Wilderness" area is just 15 minutes close and the Pacific Crest Trail is only 40 minutes east.
Make sure you hike the Mckenzie River Trail. It is 26 miles of wonder and beauty stretched along the Mckenzie Hwy 126 all the way to Fish Lake, but you can easily take it in series of shorter hikes. Try the section between Sahalie Falls and Carmen Reservoir for something spectacular if you only want a small hike. The jaunt to the Blue Pool is also fairly easy, but watch your step as you progress through an ancient lava flow along the way.
The fishing is out of this world and you can definitely fish all day right from our shore, but there are many qualified and pleasant guides available for your maximum fishing experience.
Try a white water rafting trip with High Country Expeditions -- they offer half and full day adventures.
Soak in one of three hot springs and dine in our three local restaurants.
Tokatee Golf Course is open to the public and has been on the list of the nation's top rated public courses since its creation.
Horseback riding is now also available at Rainbow Acres.
Look up The Willamette National Forest online and you'll find an abundance of information and maps. you'll find enough to do to keep you coming back for generations.
Feel free to ask Jonathan if you have any questions.

Heavenly

This was definately the cleanest and most organized place we've stayed anywhere. The owners have left lots of games, puzzles, movies etc. Great access to the river and close by many other activities. We can't wait to return to this cabin this summer!

Great location, super nice hosts

This was the perfect place to stay for hiking and biking and being right on the river was a treat. There are so many places to explore so we will be back. We had whole coffee beans, and couldn't find a grinder at the place. The host kindly brought one over for us.

Great getaway

Simple but nice location on the river. It was cold and rainy during our stay but we were perfectly warm in this cabin. The king size bed was very comfy! Had everything we needed!

We have traveled from Michigan to gulf shores Alabama, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Vancouver, and I can say this was the cleanest property we've ever stayed at. Such a beautiful location, we did not want to leave Oregon. Go Ducks !

Best ever place to stay and environment!

Fabulous scenery and river front. Super clean, cozy, and the hosts left absolutely nothing to complain about. I worried that I’d next certain things but I could have packed nothing but my food and clothes, seriously! It was only me there, a personal getaway, but the large master bed was wonderful. Watching the rafters go by was fun. Very good experience.

Location!

Great little cottage w/activity access to hiking, biking, golfing, hot springs, market & gas w/in minutes. Quick drive from Central Ore or coming from Eugene or PDX. Private, quiet (besides listening to the river) and relaxing. Old 60's Charm, but with modern applicances (fridge, dishwasher, washer & dryer. The dining & the patio tables were wonderful to play card games, have a cuppa coffee, & enjoy the view!

Fantastic riverside getaway

We had such an amazing time here. The river is right outside with a pristine forest for a view on the opposite bank. We had a wonderful outing to the falls and couldn’t be more pleased with this homey cabin. We’ll be back! Thank you.

Relaxing Week

Everything was just as advertised. We were at Riverhaven during the heatwave and we were a little worried about not having AC, but we had been left 2 great fans and we were able to keep the house at a good temp and used the fans to circulate air. Breezes coming over the river in the evening were nice and cool. It was a perfect week of relaxation and we will for sure be back.

Fabulous Deck

This is a clean, low frills cabin, with a most excellent deck on the river. Sufficient cooking and grilling amenities. So much surrounding forest has burnt in wildfires in recent years that I was worried about having no buffer from the main road, but it has just enough distance for the small swath of remaining forest to protect it. We loved nearby hikes (blue pool) and river rafting. The owners were quickly responsive to pre arrangements and to our one question during the stay.

Gorgeous riverfront property

We stayed at this property on some very hot (90+ degrees) days. Even though there was no air-conditioning, its location next to the river and using fans and windows at night ( nighttime temps were in the 50s/60s) kept the temperature manageable. And sitting outside on the deck next to the river was heavenly. Other than the bathroom being on the small side, we enjoyed the amenities and layout.

Rest & Recharge

It really was perfect! We were taking my sweet daughter back to UO for her sophomore year. It was a great place to stop spending a restorative evening on the porch, watching the river and just talking. My husband even had time for a little fly fishing. Then, an easy hour drive to our destination. After a day of moving in and errands and good byes, we enjoyed our beautiful drive back to the cabin which was extremely cozy, clean and had all the amenities you could want. It turned what could have been more of a chore into a mini vacation. We look forward to staying there again.

River Haven is Accurate

This really is a river haven. Unbelievable location that prioritizes river views and sounds. This place has almost everything you'll need: a well-stocked kitchen, linens, towels, washer/dryer, and a fireplace. A note on the fireplace: you'll probably want to get a firestarter kit and a duraflame log from the local market. The wood was pretty stubborn to burn, and we aren't sure if it was the wood or the fireplace that was the problem. In any csse, we were able to get the fire going with the items I mentioned. We did whitewater rafting during our stay through High Country Expeditions. The meeting place is about 5 minutes from the home - highly recommended, even in colder weather. There are also lots of hot springs within a 20 minute drive, and the Sahalie and Koosah waterfalls are about 25 minutes away. We would have done Blue Pool if weather had allowed - the trailhead is 20 minutes away and is a 4 mile (total) out and back moderate hike.Be sure to stock up on groceries in town (Winco in Springfield is my recommendation), as the market can be expensive. Also check out Vida Cafe for breakfast. It's locally owned and operated, and had some of the best lemon marionberry we've ever had. My boyfriend and I will be back.

You will not want to leave the deck.

Amazing view of the river. Both inside and out. Breakfast at the table inside seeing the river. Spend the day on the deck and enjoy the river. I think you get the idea. The house itself is nice. Reasonably appointed. Small bathroom that is very functional. Decent sized master bedroom. My only complaint would be the rock hard bed. However, for those of you who like firm beds it is perfect. Otherwise maybe bring a fluffy mattress pad. The managers are wonderful and very helpful should the need arise. Absolutely would stay here again.

Beautiful but Fireplace Did Not Work

The property is beautiful and located right on the McKenzie River where we have stayed many times. My wife and I wanted to get away and sit by a fireplace so I looked into some rentals in this area which we like. Initially I booked a cabin just a block down and the owner alerted me that the fireplace needed replacement so I declined the booking instead booking this place as it had a fireplace. Upon arrival, the owner/manager of this unit arrived as we were unloading our car and informed us that the fireplace was not to be used as it was dangerous based on a recent inspection. So no fireplace. Ironically, the owner of the other cabin we had initially booked had just emailed me that he had actually replaced the fireplace in his unit and it was good to go. Sometimes you just can't win. We just had 4 cords of wood delivered to our home in Bend. We are making up for the disappointment. Other than that, the place is in a dream location if you like being lulled to sleep by a river. We enjoyed a hike to the Blue Pool and called the trip a success.

Cute, clean, amazing views from patio and huge windows, private and stocked with everything you need! Access to river from property for fishing is not easy. The water is moving very fast and the waterfront is overgrown with no real places to stand.
