Beautifully Restored Log Cabin in Bluemont, VA
Welcome to this unique mountain getaway in Bluemont, at the northern tip of the Blue Ridge mountains. The ~100 year old log cabin has been restored, yet leaves many of the original features like the open ceiling that showcases beams harvested from the mountain.
The Cabin (main room) has a good-sized addition that provides a full kitchen with new appliances, a full bathroom, a sitting room/den with a washer/dryer, and a cozy bedroom with a comfy queen bed and all linens. For added privacy, there is a separate driveway and parking space for 2 autos.
We are in eastern Clarke county, just over the Loudoun County border in Northwestern Virginia. In the heart of Virginia’s wine country, we are ~ 5 minutes from: - Bluemont Vineyard, Dirt Farm Brewery, Great Country Farms, Bluemont Station Brewery and Winery, and Bear Chase Brewery. - And within a 20-minute drive, you can reach these beautiful vineyards: Breaux, Tarara, Sunset Hills, Notaviva, Veramar, Chrysalis, Delaplane and many more.
Here you can be as busy as you want to be, or not. - Hiking? Bear’s Den will lead you to the Appalachian Trail. - Shopping? 20 minutes to the Leesburg Outlets. ~30 minutes to Middleburg or Millwood for antiques. - Dining out? Many restaurants in Purcellville, Leesburg or Middleburg. - History buff? Loudoun Museum, Morven Park, George C. Marshall Dodona Manor, Oatlands House and Gardens. - Staying in? Snuggle up in front of the wood stove, enjoy the stars, watch DirecTV, sleep in peace.
And your family? Kids are welcome; there is one queen bed in the bedroom, and there are 2 inflatable twin mattresses available. One is 13" high for smaller children; the other is 18" high when inflated. Dogs are welcome, too but please only one and less than 50 pounds. It’s very important that your pup stay on lead when outside – there are many furry friends to chase, even for the best trained dog.
We have prepared lots of amenities to make your stay comfortable and memorable: - Fully stocked kitchen with pots & pans, dishes, glasses, coffee, tea, creamer, sugar - Pillow top queen bed, sheets, pillows, comforters - Bath towels, soaps, hair dryer - New propane grill - New patio table w/4 chairs and umbrella
For guests interested in staying during the week please note: During October through December this year it is difficult for me to accommodate guests arriving Monday through Wednesdays. If you are interested in those days please send an inquiry and I will do my best to accommodate your plans. Thank you for your understanding.
Enjoy your stay in our little Cabin in Bluemont!

Wonderful cabin in close proximity to wineries and breweries. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone seeking a peaceful and relaxing experience.
My husband and I stayed for two nights while attending a wedding with our pups. Bonnie is very friendly and accommodating - super close to Bear Claw brewery and Bear's Den for hiking
This was a very beautiful place to stay. The host was extremely communicative and made sure I knew she was available if needed.
I enjoyed the history of the cabin and the information provided about it. I would highly recommend staying here for anyone looking for a cozy place to stay.
Wonderful property with warm, welcoming host, complete with multiple four-legged welcoming committee members 🐾 Whenever we come back to the area, we will always check to see if Bonnie is available first 💕
Thoroughly enjoyed this quiet hidden gem nestled in Blue Ridge Mountains foothills. Close to hiking, breweries, wineries, farmers market. So glad I found this, hoped to be back.
Beautiful cozy and very clean cabin!! We had such a great stay. Tucked in the woods but still not far from
Many restaurants, wineries and breweries. Check in and check out was made so easy. Highly recommended and we would definitely come back!
Bonnie was the absolute best hostess. The cabin was exceptionally clean and loaded with little extras and thoughtfulness everywhere you turned. So warm and cozy plus close to tons of wineries and breweries...like literally 10mins or less.Highly recommend it!!!
We truly enjoyed our weekend stay at this beautiful rustic cabin. Bonnie was a wonderful host who greeted us with a bottle of wine, which was so thoughtful, and made sure we were familiar with all the amenities the cabin had to offer. The cabin was quiet and secluded and was carefully stocked for guests, and we were beyond impressed.
Bonnie is a wonderful host and made the trip effortless. Her cabin is cute and a quiet way to get away for the weekend. Definitely a bonus that there are hiking trails down the road. Beautiful!
thank you!
The cabin was beautiful!! Bonnie our host was awesome, friendly and helpful on restaurants, shops to visit as we were from out of state. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend staying here and we will be back-probably for an anniversary sometime because we got engaged this weekend while we were here!
The reviews are spot on and Bonnie lived up to them. She went above and beyond in facilitating a stress free getaway. The setting was rural with modern amenities in a cabin whose location feels remote yet is central to a rolodex of activities. Definitely hit the mark.

This cabin was absolutely everything we could ask for a weekend getaway. Very cozy and comfortable, beautiful location. Complete with everything .
Bonnie, the owner who lives right down the hill, was such a pleasure to meet. I will definitely be returning to this place, not soon enough! Enjoyed everything about it
This location is perfect as a base camp for exploring the area. The host was really nice and has outfitted the old cabin and its newer addition with everything you'll need. The host lives next door but is not visible from the cabin, so it feels woodsy! A big plus is that leashed dog(s) are welcome with permission from the host. Mountain roads, woods, starry sky, hidden driveway, tight parking area, table and chairs outside all lend a quaint and peaceful Blue Ridge atmosphere. We loved it!
The cabin was extremely well-stocked, very clean & comfortable. We were disappointed that there was not internet as we had some business that needed taking care of. Was probably not the best place to stay for a couple in their 70's since it is a bit difficult to get into, but once we got in, both we & our puppy were very, very comfortable. Bonnie was very nice to provide anything we needed & texted us several times during the week to make sure we were ok.
This cabin was amazing! It has the greatest character and the main room is literally an old log cabin with exposed beams and roof rafters. You walk in and just feel the coziness.
The place was immaculately clean and beyond well stocked. It felt more like a friends house they are living in than a rental. All usual stuff, but there was also lots of coffee and tea options with creamers and sweeteners, Q tips in the bathroom and several different sets of shampoo and conditioned to choose from. Right down to the fact that there was a sewing kit available if you needed it. A SEWING KIT! Bonnie was a great host, very accommodating to our schedule. She even dropped off a little gift and some sweets as a welcome. The area was beautiful and in the prime of foliage season for the Halloween weekend. So many wineries and breweries around. Hiking trails and an overlook for sunsets. So many little ma and pa shops for groceries or goodies. The amazing little town feeling that you see in all those movies. I will certainly be going back at some point. Cause snuggling up in front of the wood burning stove was awesome. Thank you again Bonnie!
