Great stay !

Great room with a floor to ceiling window offering a nice view of the city park. The room was modern and clean. The bathroom was comfortable and spacious considering most hotels in Bogota have tiny bathrooms. This is a great location if you want to stay close to iconic landmarks.

Great stay will be back !

I thought the hotel was nice and it was in a great location. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. The only thing I would like to see would be bottled water in the room. Twice I hit my head on the cupboard that is sticking out of the wall.

Highly recom this hotel ! It was not only beautiful, and the staff was very nice and helpful! The rooftop pool with an amazing view was def a highlight. The location is also close to everything. I will def be staying here again

A value stay near all the sites

Excellent location for exploring the old town with good security in a modern setting. Rooms were spacious and well lit with great bathroom and shower. While the bed was very comfortable there was a lot of road noise even on the 5th floor with the heavy curtains closed. Breakfast choices were limited but adequate. A modern hotel at value for money prices.

The shower leaked all over the floor. I just asked for towels to clear it up since I was only there 2 nights and didn’t want to switch rooms. The breakfast had a nice variety. 8 minute walk to the square where the walking tours meet up. Close to the open air market. Would maybe* stay again.

TLDR: good security and good-ish central location to the interesting parts of Bogota Pros: good central-ish location to the main shopping street and not that far from the main square, bed was comfy, Don Benitez restaurant right beside it is amazing Cons: very slow wifi, thought we had breakfast included in our booking but I guess it wasn't, had trouble getting in the first time because you need to buzz in for the front door to open but it takes a while if no one is there to answer (but at least that's good security)

Great Location, clean, bad breakfast, noise

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The hotel's location was fantastic, and the cleanliness was commendable. The staff was very polite and attentive, which added to the positive experience. However, I must mention a few areas that fell short of my expectations. The breakfast offered by the hotel was quite pricey, costing 35,000. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was subpar, leaving me disappointed. Instead, I would recommend heading downstairs to the Juan Valdez coffee shop, conveniently located next to the hotel, for a better breakfast experience. Another aspect that affected my stay was the lack of blackout curtains in the room. This meant that at 6 am, the room was flooded with daylight, making it difficult to sleep in. Additionally, the windows were not updated, leading to a significant amount of street noise seeping into the room. The lack of soundproofing made it challenging to have a peaceful rest. Despite these drawbacks, the hotel itself was good, with a convenient location and high cleanliness standards. If you can overlook the breakfast and noise concerns, it can still be a suitable choice for your stay.

Things which hold them back from a 4 or 5 star

First the good points - great location, very secure, electronically guarded entrance 24x7. Good room, great view of Montserrate from our room. Staff was very communicative in English and gave great recommendation (Jhon) for dinner. Did enjoy our stay. Now here are the items which hold them back from getting a 4 or 5 star review. 1) Shower knob was clunky. we could only get lukewarm shower water in our 2 days stay. 2) 2 bulbs in the room were burnt out. 3) Sliding blinds didn't work smoothly. 4) Somewhat tacky behavior - requested 2 coffee pods for next day for the coffee maker. Was told initially USD1 but was charged COP10,000 which is 2.5 times the rate. Should have been given complementary and then told that only the first day's coffee pods are included. 5) Same with taxi service from airport. Was told via email, it would cost me 91,630 Colombian pesos. While the hotel is entitled to mark it up, they could have also told me that a regular taxi or Uber costs only 30,000 to 50,000 pesos to come from the airport. Give first time international visitors good advice, especially when corresponding via email, days before arrival. This behavior is more like a 2 star hotel which keep low daily rates but try to make more money out of customers in alternate ways.

We loved our 5 night stay at Hotel BH Bicentenario! We felt completely safe with the extra layers of security, the location was absolutely perfect for walking to restaurants and shops, and we never had trouble getting an uber when we needed to venture to more distant parts of the city. Juan Diego at reception was so helpful and efficient (with perfect English) and we found the common spaces to be chic yet inviting. Breakfast had a variety of choices and we appreciated that it opened very early as we were able to eat before our tours began. Our room was large and sleek; we especially loved the floor-to-ceiling windows with the electric shade. We did hear city noise, as this is a vibrant part of Candelaria, but it was never enough to keep us awake. The shower was awesome with great pressure and plenty of hot water, the mini fridge was perfect for storing some light bites, and the bed was super comfy with plenty of pillows. Highly recommend!
