"Great, nice staff, this is the only strength of this hotel. Dining options are very poor and the prices not worth for the food quality - high prices for a mediocre food. The breakfast quality is mediocre. There are a lot of maintenance issues inside the room: i got several electrical problems (much of recharge sockets are out order) and this well documented by travellers, the rooms are pretty old and not well maintained. Buttom line: this is not 5 stars hotel, other 4 stars hotels much better...

Veranda Tamarin Hotel and Spa

8/10 Good

"Veranda Tamarin is a very pleasant, rustic and atmospheric 3-star hotel, right on the beautiful Tamarin public beach. The room was pleasant, if a bit small, and with a good bed. It also had a spacious balcony with a garden/poolside view. The staff are all very kind and friendly, though a bit hit-and-miss (perhaps lacking in training) - but always kind and friendly. The main restaurant does not have a lot of atmosphere, but the food was generally very tasty and well prepared, but nearly always a bit cold. The specialty restaurant (Crazy Fish) has very good food (again served a bit cold - perhaps that's the Mauritian way). And the pool bar and snack shack were good. We had stayed a week earlier at the sister hotel, Veranda Grand Baie, which I think is a 4-star hotel, with a bigger room, somewhat nicer main restaurant (also equally good food - but a bit cold), and more polished staff. The rates we paid for the two hotels were identical, so GB is better value financially - and the bigger town of Grand Baie offers more than the small town of Tamarin. A small point: Beware the changing return schedule of the hotel’s shuttle bus to Flic en Flac – I had to wait 90 minutes from the agreed time before the bus left to return to the hotel. One thing I did miss was advance contact from the hotel regarding estimated arrival time. That might have facilitated earlier room availability (as it did at Veranda GB). In summary, a very enjoyable and well-catered week at Veranda Tamarin."

Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort

10/10 Excellent

"Simply a little piece of heaven. The setting is beautiful, the flora and fauna a joy to have the privilege to be a part of. The rooms are welcoming and the choice of restaurants and bars of a high standard. If you love golf this will provide an excellent challenge in a superb setting. What makes the place though is the team of staff, they could not be more welcoming, accomodating and friendly and the personalised concierge service such a bonus."

Sugar Beach Mauritius

10/10 Excellent

"Family holiday for 9 nights - 2 adults 3 kids (9,16,17). Fantastic week, cannot fault the resort everything was pretty much perfect. All inclusive took out the concern about unexpected bills. Excellent food - even buffet was huge selection, very high quality, and varied themes every day. Never felt overly full even on a busy week, sunloungers could be found. Pool lovely. Youngest enjoyed the kids entertainment which he dipped in and out of. Lots of kayaks and boats to use. Cannot fault. And I usually find something!"

La Pirogue Mauritius

10/10 Excellent

"We stayed in La Pirogue, Wolmer Mauritius as a family for 4 nights. Our stay was excellent and we found the resort exactly in the same condition as seen in the pictures. While there was a bit of confusion in the airport taxi pick up, but i wouldn't take away a single credit from this resort, its excellent amenities, courteous staff, and good food. The hospitality is top class, and the best part is that you can spend days in the resort with your family as they have so many things to do. La Pirogue made our vacation really memorable, and we would definitely stay if we returned to Mauritius again."

OUTRIGGER Mauritius Beach Resort

10/10 Excellent

"From the moment we arrived to the time we left we couldnt have been more happy. Never having spent time in an all inclusive resort before, we couldn't belive how relaxed we became. The staff were fantastic especially the restaurant staff, and the food choice we were able to feed the kids without complaints. The hotel is rough around the edges but nothing impacted on our time. We come to Mauritius every two years and all the family have said they would return to the outrigger. Would i recommend this hotel, if you want absolute luxury and staff standing over your every move, no. But if you want a relaxed, calm, friendly hotel, that offers great value, great staff, absolutely."
