About this property
GuestHost - Casa Daimò Bologna Exhibition Area!
In the lively fairgrounds area, in a 1970s building, you’ll find this renovated two-room apartment on the mezzanine level. Perfect for family or friends, it’s furnished in a modern style: cement tiles in the kitchen and jungle-print tiles in the shower, all in a soothing powder-blue shade. Bright, quiet, and strategically located for easy access to the Fairgrounds. The living area features a sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a master bedroom with an additional single bed, a bathroom with a window, and a washer and dryer—all brand new. Parking space included.
The apartment is located in a very quiet building. It has been renovated, completely changing the layout of the rooms and optimizing it to accommodate temporary guests, but it’s also perfect for longer stays. In fact, the kitchen is equipped with every appliance, and the home offers every comfort.
The living area features a sofa bed for one guest, games, books, and a TV for relaxing after a day of shopping or visiting museums. The bathroom is an oasis of relaxation thanks to its ocean-inspired colors and plant-themed wall coverings.
Each room features a desk area for working in complete privacy—an essential feature for those staying in Bologna who need to work remotely.
The spaces at Casa Dimondi have been optimized for a pleasant stay without sacrificing anything; in fact, there are even wardrobes for guests staying for a longer period. Free high-speed Wi-Fi rounds out the amenities.

Neighborhood description
In the lively San Donato neighborhood, you’ll find the CUBO (Centro Unipol Bologna), a public space that hosts art exhibitions, workshops, and live music.
The Bologna Fairgrounds, another large exhibition space, is used for conferences dedicated to various sectors, such as video games and agricultural machinery. The casual cafes in the area are very popular with students, while the laid-back restaurants and street food stands offer Italian, Chinese, and Indian specialties.
San Donato is one of the city’s most diverse residential neighborhoods: young students driven away by the illogical rental policies in the historic center, older residents seeking a quiet place for their grandchildren, and a significant cultural melting pot made up of businesses and residents from a wide variety of cultures. It is perhaps the most balanced neighborhood among all these distinct worlds with very different goals and lifestyles.
As soon as you step off the bridge, you’ll find the Mercato Sonato, the new name given to the Mercato San Donato: About 10 to 15 years ago, it was the city’s largest neighborhood market; now it hosts cultural events, features some hipster organic offerings, is home to businesses run by young people, and faces the challenge of becoming a hub that attracts the entire neighborhood.
In Piazza Adam Mickiewicz stands a sort of skyscraper, and there you’ll find the bridge on Via Libia, with the sports facility on Via Mondo marking the boundary with the famous Cirenaica neighborhood. Here you’ll find post-fascist architecture, but above all, one of the first bars run by the Chinese community, located in a small roundabout and offering the best aperitif buffet in the entire Bologna area. This part of the neighborhood is densely populated, residential, and extremely quiet. There are young people, schools, green spaces, and essential local businesses to keep everyone happy.
The regional government buildings are one of the architectural landmarks of the entire Emilia-Romagna region.
The neighborhood’s main public parks are San Donnino Park, Scandellara Park, Pier Paolo Pasolini Park, and the Pilastro Arboretum.
Pilastro Arboretum
Located near the historic rural village of San Paolo, close to Pilastro, the land was purchased by the municipality in 1969, while the current garden was established in 1996. Spanning about ten hectares, the park is home to more than one hundred different plant species, including trees and shrubs, making it a true arboretum that features everything from the most exotic plants to those most typical of the Bolognese countryside.
Pier Paolo Pasolini Park
Named after the intellectual Pier Paolo Pasolini, a native of Bologna, it is also located in the Pilastro neighborhood, flanked by the long building known as the Virgolone. It was built around the 1980s and, at 17 hectares, is the largest park in the neighborhood. It is characterized by Nicola Zamboni’s sculptural complex, consisting of approximately 200 human figures created between 1974 and 1984. There is also a small open-air arena.
Scandellara Park
A vast area of countryside and public green space, sparsely urbanized and still predominantly agricultural, located between the Bologna-Portomaggiore railway line, the beltway, and the San Donato freight yard.
