"The hotel was great except we were given a room with a the view that we had paid for. At the checkout, when asked, we were told that we should have asked at the checkout in, which makes no sense. The top floors are not blocked by the shorter buildings across. The elevator buttons were also flaky. They light up after the card scanned, and then they would go off. That happened half of the time. Otherwise, a great hotel in a great location and we had a great time."
"The property was nice. The room (on 4th floor) had an interesting smell. I thought it smelled like moth repellant or cockroach repellant. But my wife said it smelled like moist mold or something. It wasn’t very bad. Breakfast was very good. The staff was really great. "
"The location in the centro gives a non touristy feeling to Rio. Although it’s near the harbor it also is surrounded by businesses. I appreciated this perspective. The hotel itself is grand in stature and the staff are more formal than I’m used to in Rio. It had a very Waldorf feel to it. Beautiful wood and elegance But it’s also a bit minimalist.
