"They canceled our reservation literally at the last minute without any notification whatsoever; leaving us stranded at the Maun Airport. Then the manager refused to give us a refund. Both Expedia and I tried to rectify the situation for over an hour while still at the airport all to no avail. This feels like quite a scam! They took a reservation and almost $300 USD. "Don’t let the neighborhood fool you, it is after all Africa and it is inside a gated compound, very safe. It is a brand new place that still has a few kinks to work out. "We booked mainly due to price and location. The issue is though that the location pinned on the map is wrong by several kilometres. The place is in Tlokweng so you are bound to use taxis whenever you need t go anywhere. It is not walking distance to Riverwalk Mall. Check-in took more than half an hour as the reception does not have any access to the online bookings at all. So even though we had the confirmation on email and could show them this, they had to engage the owner (not at the premises)...
