"Francesco the Villa owner made us very welcome on arrival and communication prior and during the stay was excellent. The villa itself was cool and spacious during a hot week and the air conditioning in each bedroom was fantastic and at no extra cost. "First time in Italy and instantly fell in love with it and it’s wonderful people. Host and house were everything we hoped for and could not have been more helpful. Fabulous base to come back to after a day sight seeing with a dip in the pool and relax in the beautiful gardens with a glass of Prosecco and the Circada evening chorus. Just perfect."

"Overall this is a fabulous property with an idilic location and plenty of space for a large group of people. The garden/ pool space is lovely directly overlooking the lake. Parts of the house could do with some tlc particularly the kitchen. Keeping the house secure was quite difficult with so many external doors and locking mechanisms. "Great location in a quiet part of Toscolano Maderno with the lake a 30 second walk away and a 10 minute walk to the town along the lake front and a 5 min walk to a big supermarket. Villa was spotlessly clean, plenty of space with 5 bedrooms (6 if you count the office/ bedroom off the main lounge). The kitchen area was a good size with plenty of utensils/ equipment to ensure cooking was carried out with ease! Novella the host offered excellent service both prior to and during our stay and...

"Poor!!! Kitchen the sink is leaking and the units are water damaged. Downstairs bedroom looks and feels like a storage room converted. Main bedroom shower does not have a wall fixing so couldn't be used. The quality of bedding throughout was poor lack of pillows. The main feature of property the top floor is not airconditioned and therefore locked off. Overall our impression was of a villa in decline. We paid a reasonable price for a poor quality villa so therefore considered it overpriced."

"Wow! What a wonderful villa, with an amazing, huge garden. The pool is huge, the rooms big and comfy (great, comfortable beds!). Clean, modern bathrooms, the kitchen well stocked with dishes and glasses...what more can I say! We didn't use any of the luxury services we could have ordered on top, but the communication with Novella was great. We would book again in a heatbeat!"

"A stunning villa in a wonderful location above the village of Gargnano. The interior layout works very well for a family or group of friends ( we were a family of eight). Only slight drawback is that two of the bedrooms don't have AC so can get hot.The exterior terraces and pool are really great with superb lake views. A short 5/10 minute walk takes you down to the village with easy access for swimming in the lake and a variety of excellent bars and restaurants. So overall a great place to stay."

"Villa Margherita was everything I expected. The Villa was well equipped for the 8 of us and spotless. The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of storage in each room and having 3 bathrooms worked extremely well for our large group. The welcome basket was a lovely added extra especially the olive oil made from the olives grown on the property. The owner was extremely helpful both before our arrival and throughout our stay. "Property has stunning views and many positives. However, the description isn’t accurate. Ten people can’t comfortably sleep here. One bedroom is an attic room, in which you can’t fully stand up and is stifling in the heat. The windows in this room are at floor height, really small and have no blinds/curtains. "The chalet was well equipped and clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a good meal in the restaurant on site where again the staff were very friendly. A lovely three night stay. "
