"Great location, lovely room, great bedding and towels. We were on the first floor of Coble Cottage, adjacent to the Inn. Bathroom layout was ok but a bit more thought could have improved it by having a longer shower tray (the full length of the wall), the toilet next to it and the hand basin at the door end (the door was at an angle which made the toilet feel cramped). Reasonable breakfast choice but would have liked a broader range of fresh fruit - only apple chunks and pineapple chunks to have with the yoghurt. Good cooked selection, various breads for toasting, mini croissants and pain au chocolat. I would definitely recommend and would stay again."

"When i booked i didn't realise how close it was to the A1, so was a bit worried about traffic noise when i found out, as it turned out i didn't need to, the rooms were located to the back of the property and you couldn't hear anything. The staff were all very friendly and the breakfast was spot on."

"Absolutely lovely hotel. Spotlessy clean, with polite and very hardworking staff. Parking is free with plenty of spaces. We ate evening meal and breakfast in the hotel, and found the food to be excellent, and reasonably priced. It is about 20 minutes walk to the little town of Amble. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will definitely visit again if we are in the area. "

"Staff very friendly, we had a family delux room, was spacious, beautifully decorated, tv in both rooms, my daughter loved the standing bath, good cooked breakfast, location great, the steak night in Tuesdays absolutely delicious, such a great offer, we are going to book next year, couldn’t fault the hotel, had an amazing stay"

"The rooms were quirky and an excellent reflection of the history of the setting - owners were friendly and well informed about places to visit and eat. Breakfast was delicious. Shared sitting room with log burner and comfortable sofas ensured that guests were able to mingle if they wished too."

"This was our second visit to Charlton Hall and this time stayed in The Tempus. It didn’t disappoint. Everything is well thought out, the rooms are comfortable and spacious. The entire hotel is beautifully decorated. We ate in the Orangery a couple of times, both of which were delicious. The staff are attentive and courteous. What’s not to love! We will return! "
