"The staff was kind!! Our room was dirty upon arrival. Grime on the sinks and walls. There were even some crumbs on the floor.. I'm thinking Doritos. House keeping did well to make our bed daily and refresh towels! But overall.. the side of the building we stayed on smelled either like vinegar or boiled eggs through the entirety of our stay. Lastly, a pipe must have busted on our last night because there was a mighty squealing noise that lasted through the wee hours of the morning until our check out time. Subtle, but noticeable. "

"Check in was fast and easy. There was trash in the trash can when we walked into the room. No big deal. Other than that it was clean. Seems outdated compared to some of the other Tru motels I have stayed at. "

"Main parts of the room were clean, like the bed, counters, etc. but the room could use a good deep clean. There was tooth paste splatter around the doors and the corners of the bathroom could use some TLC. We had room 201 - a family suite. The room layout was awesome, great for our family. If you are sensitive to odors, I do not recommend this hotel, the lobby has a constant air freshener smell (it does smell good). The bedroom on the other hand… it was noticeable, not pleasant, but thankfully we went nose blind to it quickly. Pool was there. Kids enjoyed the hot tub, it was very foamy…"

"Staff was nice but the condition of our room was terrible. The tiles in the bathroom were cracked and after a shower there was brown stuff leaking up from them. There were also dirty dishes in the dishwasher and half the outlets did not work. "

"I did not use the laundry room. My only complaint was and still is… if you’re going to be a pet friendly facility. Please have the proper cleaning supplies and cleaners to remove the smell of the pet before the next guest arrives. Some people actually have a pet allergy."

"2/5 Stars: Good Location, But Major Issues Made for a Frustrating Stay We wanted to like this hotel. The location near Johnson Space Center is excellent, with tons of restaurants, shopping, and easy access to downtown Houston. But several ongoing issues made it hard to enjoy. The biggest problem was construction. From the moment we checked in, there was loud, disruptive noise directly above our 2nd floor room. We requested a move but were told nothing was available that night. It continued the next day, sounding like a jackhammer overhead, before we were finally moved to the 4th floor. The new shower was nice but wouldn't fully turn off. Housekeeping fell short too. No extra toilet tissue, scarce towels that had to be tracked down daily, no ice bucket, and a pullout sofa barely larger than a twin. The pool was open but heavily shaded by the hotel, leaving it freezing cold with virtually no afternoon sun. It was also very small. The complimentary breakfast was well-stocked and tasty. The hotel is dog-friendly with great walking areas nearby. And the free cookies at the front desk were a big hit with my kids. With better communication around construction and attention to basic room stocking, this could be a solid option. As it stands, the stay was more stressful than relaxing."

"First, guests need to know that there is no-in person desk attendant. The front desk attendant is virtual. She was super pleasant. The only issue I had was that my receipt wouldn’t print. We had no issue with her distributing the key card through the kiosk. The rooms were really clean. The bed was super comfortable! The A/C is one of the older units you would see back in the day, but it does a great job of cooling the room. My only gripe was that it wouldn’t stay on continuously ( even when it wasn’t set on auto), so when it would cut off, you could hear all of the nearby traffic. Overall, it was a good stay. Just adjust your expectations."
