"Giovanni is a real connaisseur of food and wine and served us a lovely home cooked meal with a good local wine while we sat on a balcony overlooking his swimming pool. He goes to a great deal of trouble to make his guests welcome (big towels, linen napkins) and everything is done to an immaculate standard."

"Lovely old villa located in the midst of the grape vines just outside Canelli. Gated (electric) entrance with plenty of parking inside the wall. Beautiful views across the valley with vineyards, hazelnut trees, and a local flock of sheep! Tricky 1.5 km drive up a narrow road with lots of twists and turns to get to the villa, but you get used to it after a day or two! "Excellent service. Hotel is an old castle which made for a unique experience but some design quirks do not translate into modern conveniences. We had a patio and would’ve been thoughtful to have lounge furniture, it just had a bistro table and two chairs."
