We were just a short walk down from Colchester Castle and High Street, where we could find a wide range of pubs, restaurants, and shops. The city centre train station was just a short walk away as well. Thank you to our host for the awesome check-in and also for the lift to the "other" train station for our trip back into London. "The hotel is good. Further removed from the airport than you’d think though, and costs £4 per person to get there via the shuttle bus, which isn’t often mentioned. The food and lounge were nice. The only gripe would be the air conditioning which didn’t keep up with the heat in the room and only cooled down in the middle of the night. Fix that, and you’ve got a winner."
