Jed’s house in Torlan is set in beautiful remote countryside; rolling hills, sheep, horses and is the best equipped house we have ever stayed in.
The House; the photos don’t do the house justice if I’m honest. It’s a stunning stone farmhouse, beautifully restored, with no expense spared. Large driveway, plenty of seating with a garden that gets the sun all day (on the one day we actually got the sun...ha!). BBQ, plenty of garden furniture, sun loungers, ping pong table, toys and of course the pool (which is cold but on hot days is fabulous. It didn’t stop our 2 girls diving in everyday anyway!)
Large living room with huge tv, dvds, sky, lots of games/books and comfy sofas. Brilliantly equipped kitchen and adjoining utility room.
Upstairs 4 lovely bedrooms, clean and light, lots of space and 3 bathrooms.
La Cheze is your nearest village with an excellent bakery - 5mins by car but we walked (about 25mins) . Pretty Rohan and Bréhan (ten minutes) with supermarkets (we liked the one in Bréhan)
Good base for exploring; Josselin well worth a visit with a beautiful chateau (20mins away) Pontivy also has nice shops and a chateau (30mins) We ventured to the coast one day; Carnac which was gorgeous (about 1hr15) - so if you want to see ‘touristy’ Brittany you will need to drive but we found the peace and tranquility at the house more tempting - particularly as it literally has everything you need.
