Štefánik's tomb. Milan Rastislav Štefánik was a Slovak politician, diplomat and astronomer. He was a leading figure in establishing an independent Czechoslovakian state following the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian empire after the First World War. He died in a plane crash in May 1919, and his tomb is situated on Bradlo (543 m) near Košariská, the village in which he was born.
