"We had an unexpected layover in Venlo and stayed here 1 night. It is a beautiful, quiet property nestled in a forest area. The staff was accommodating and the room was very nice. It was not walking distance to Venlo or the train station but the taxi ride was inexpensive. No restaurants near the hotel but the hotel does have a bar/restaurant with a picturesque patio area and friendly staff. "

"This place is an aging hotel that needs the rooms to be renovated but I think the lower prices reflect that.. My room had a small bit of wallpaper coming loose and the shower head was badly located but other than that it was just dated. It was clean and spacious with a good view of the courtyard.. Plenty of parking on a hard stand surface (not gravel) so I deal for my motorcycle.. we had a good continental breakfast included in the very reasonable tariff.. Overall I would highly recommend this place it you are on a budget and like value for money. "

"Had an issue with my room where the air con had a slow drip. Spoke to the receptionist, who advised the maintenance was not available so if I wanted to change the room. Was happy to do so and actually gave me a better room than I had. Great customer service! The original room did look a bit run down whereas the new room looked new and well kitted out."

"I loved the historical nature of this hotel. It was formerly an orphanage and it has been restored to reflect that. The rooms are small, basically the width of a king size bed, (which was gorgeously comfortable), though there was a shower and sink in the room as well. The toilets are down the hall. The rooms are dead quiet, as you are encased by thick walls. There are a few plaques around the hotel to tell of its former life. The hotel is situated right in the centrum, behind the old church, and spitting distance from Venlo's shopping, going out area. Loved it. 5 stars. "
