Relaxing Getaway

Robins Nest

Cabin was nice and clean. Very cozy. Little trouble getting the code. Did not receive an email before we arrived. So it took time. Grass could have been moved. No hammock Had trouble with the hot tub. More traffic than expected. Great distance from everything!! But loved the cocoon the cabin!!

Christmas Quiet Getaway

Perfect getaway

The Robin's nest cabin is the perfect size for our family. The location is great, very short drive to the restaurants and activities. Will definitely be staying here again!

Great spot, right in the middle of it all! State park and activities in Hochatown close by, restaurants a short drive. Cabin was very cute, well-stocked & warm- loved the porch and hot tub!

Just Right

This place was just right. Had a very enjoyable stay. The location was close to the state park but still very private and beautiful. The only problem I had was the TV in the bedroom didn’t work. Would like to stay here again.

Cute little cabin

We had read the reviews and were a little scared to stay here but we took a chance and I'm glad that we did. The house was clean and tidy. We were able to make ourselves at home. Yes, the TV in the bedroom doesn't work but we don't watch TV in bed anyways. No, this isn't the brightest house on the block, but it's a cabin and it just adds to the nostalgia of being in the woods. My wife and I would stay there again.

Do NOT stay here!

Do NOT stay at this property. While the cabin is nice, we could not get into the property until 7:30 pm (checkin-in time was 4:00 pm.). No one had cleaned the cabin from the last guests and the locks didn't work. After several phone calls to VRBO and the host, we finally got into the property 3.5 hours late. The host assured me that I would receive a refund for the cleaning fees which never happened. Pretty sure the host has blocked my phone number. VRBO was no help. They told me all contact had to be with the host. I will never stay at this host's properties or use VRBO again.

Overall good, but some fixable disappointments

We received no email or contact otherwise from the property manager regarding the access instructions. We messaged them on Vrbo and called the listed #, which was “not receiving calls” at our check-in time. Thankfully, Vrbo customer support found the door lock access code on file, otherwise we would have had no way into the cabin. Over 48 hours later and we still have not heard from the manager. I wonder how quickly they would have contacted us if the $550 payment bounced. The cabin was noted to be in very neat condition with a minor exception. The fridge smelled of rotten meat and there was a pinkish liquid at the bottom of crisper drawers. That required cleaning so we could keep food in there. The property overall was set up for a very good time. We enjoyed the cornhole sets, the fire pit, as well as the cozy porch. It was very disappointing to find that the hot tub smelled like a fish bowl/pond. I didn’t feel comfortable allowing my kids in there who looked forward to it. It was

Disappointed

AWFUL. Unfortunately this has been the most unprofessional encounter I've ever experienced. We started reaching out to the host 5 days prior to our stay after reading that other guests had trouble getting their check in info on time, and like everyone else, got no response. We spoke with Vrbo techs on the phone every day for those 5 days who assured us we would be let in to the cabin which ended up not being true. We informed the host we would be driving four hours to the cabin and we were concerned with others reviews because they had not been able to get in contact with them, but for five days, they still did not respond. we decided to drive to broken Bow anyways because the trip had already been paid for for two months and we were hoping that by the time we got there we would hear something back which we did not. Our check in time was 4:00 PM and after sitting at the cabin until five with no contact from the host, we decided to find another place to stay, since we were four hours from home and had nowhere to sleep. An hour and a half after booking another place to stay the "host" FINALLY messaged to inform us that the cabin was ready but STILL did not offer up any check in instructions. I would urge all of you to really think twice before booking a stay in this cabin. I am not sure why these people should still be allowed to list the property on this website after the stress they have caused not only us but obviously many others as well.

Horrible Communication

Beware!!! I gave this rating based solely on the lack of communication from the owner. We were scheduled to arrive on 6/29. I had received an email from VRBO on Monday 6/26 stating that I should have received access instructions. On Tuesday I still had not received anything so I messaged the owner through the VRBO app. That message went unanswered. I then sent her a text message on Wednesday which also went unanswered. By this time we are thinking the trip isn’t going to happen. We then call the credit card company to dispute the charge. Then I contacted VRBO who was of NO help telling me to give the owner 24 hours to respond after they were unable to reach them. This is NOT a way to conduct business. The very least the owner could have done was responded to let me know approximately when I could expect access information vs just NO communication. We are a 2 hour drive away. And to not receive access instructions until 30 minutes prior to arrival is totally absurd. I’m traveling with my 79 year-old mother so to have to make the drive to then potentially have to turn around and come back is a bit much. After reading the reviews, I can see that I am not the only one this has happened to. The cabin is clean. The hot tub cover is awkward. In the pictures of the listing it shows a creek/stream which I thought was on the property. It isn’t. I even asked the property owner about this in a message. She couldn’t even respond with an answer Be sure you bring: spices, ice, body wash

We had a good time, however the hot tub sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. It did not always heat up and only one spot of the jets worked. I did not receive check in information until a few hours before our trip and the host did not reply to any of my messages. There wasn't a hammock as pictured. There wasn't a dishwasher as it stated in the amenities. The cabin was very cozy looking and clean except for the outside trashcan. It was full and we had nowhere to put our trash so the wildlife got into it and scattered it all over. The gas grill did not have any propane and the host expected us to get a full tank to replace the empty one, even though we were only grilling out one time. We should not have had any inconveniences for the price we paid. Despite any of these things our family managed to have a wonderful time. We will definitely be looking into finding a cabin with a host that will respond and the cabin is advertised correctly.

Hot tub

Issues with the hot tub on our third day. Notified the host and was told it would be serviced the next day. The next day and the one after that came and went, was not taken care of.Other than that the cabin was nice. I would suggest brining your own TP as there was none.( was brought the next day ) due to miscommunication somewhere, we had to leave for about an hour and a half to allow the housekeeper to finish.

The cabin is charming and cozy, just right for four people. While there are two bedrooms, a sleeper sofa in the living area means a few more guests could fit, though everyone would need to share a single bathroom, which might be a bit of a challenge.The property feels wonderfully secluded, even though there are other houses nearby. Mature trees offer great privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. We did encounter a hiccup on the first day with the internet and hot tub not working, but the owners were incredibly responsive and had everything fixed by the next day. Communication with them was excellent, they were quick to reply and very helpful.A few practical notes: there is no dishwasher, and while plenty of beach and bath towels were provided, we didn’t find any washcloths. The air conditioning works beautifully, and after long, hot days of hiking, it was such a treat to curl up on the couch under a blanket (be sure to bring your own throw—only bed blankets are provided) and unwind with a movie. I would add that a quilt ladder with some throws would be a perfect addition in the living room.The cabin has a rustic charm in all the best ways. Enjoying a cup of coffee on the porch in the quiet morning hours was one of our favorite parts of the stay.Thank you for sharing your lovely Nest with us!
