Super Great place to stay. Loved the simple industrial decor. Easy check in and out. Close to Nemadji state forest. Perfect place to stay for ATV riding in Nemadji!! Thanks Bears Den for a great stay!
Nice location around a lot of state parks it was a very peaceful quiet stay even though the mosquitoes outside were abominable so the only suggestion I would have would be a bug zapper.
We were in town for a wedding and found this little gem. We had a fantastic stay- the motel is very clean and comfortable, and the staff was so kind. It felt like a ritzy Schitt’s Creek experience.
Room was very spacious, clean, & inviting. Check-in was easy at their bar/restaurant/convenience store next door. We enjoyed the Friday Night Fish Fry & a couple cold tap beers at the bar. There’s a nice beer garden area; looked like it would be a lot of fun on an evening when they have live music. Would gladly stay again, if in the area.
Very impressed with this motel. I would highly recommend this place. Very clean. Nicely decorated. I travel a lot and this is by far the nicest motel I have ever stayed in. Check in very convenient.
I really like to use some design with the plumbing pipes. The only thing is the bed do not need to be that close to the wall they needed to build a table on the second side of the bed or an outlet is.
The motel is really new and in excellent shape. Our unit was clean and well designed for optimal enjoyment. Having a proper dining table was unexpected and appreciated. The staff were friendly and super helpful. This stay at Bears Den was an absolutely well priced deal compared to properties within an hour drive and we were pleasantly surprised that this motel reads more like a mid-priced hotel in terms of living space. The only recommendation would be that the motel add paper towels to their kitchen area, so we arent using white hotel towels for spills. We chose this location to stay at after seeing a show at Black Bear Casino, and it wasn't too far and saved us a few hundred dollars. I would definitely stay here again.
Nice little hotel. It's brand new, and quite a surprising little place in the middle of nowhere. Very basic, clean and modern.
The beds are quite firm, and sit high, so they were a bit of a challenge for me since I was in a sling and only able to use one arm, but not completely uncomfortable. I would suggest adding a couple extra pillows to each bed, there were just two on each bed and kind of flat. The only other issue we had was the shower curtain didn't do a good job holding water in and the pan is low, so the bathroom floor got soaked no matter what we tried to avoid it getting wet. With the concrete floor it got a little slick which could be a safety issue.
The place is new, clean and comfortable. However, the hotel allows long term guests with substance abuse/mental health issues. It's the first time I've ever been scared staying somewhere. Our neighbor was repeatedly screaming at himself, us or am imaginary person * f*** you" and other moans and crazy noises we could hear through the wall. We contacted the owner who came over. It became quieter but there was still weird noises (grunts and sobbing) and it sounded like he was moving furniture around. When we spoke to the owner he said "oh, hes been here for a while and gets drunk sometimes.". Worst hotel experience of my life. I could go on with more details but thats enough to give you the idea.
Horrible experience. I booked a non-refundable, prepaid room weeks in advance. Four days before my booking they cancelled my reservation because Expedia supposedly overbooked. I don't know why it took them weeks to figure this out and I honestly do not believe their excuse, but things happen. Instead of cancelling the reservation with Hotels.com and refunding me, they asked me to cancel with Hotels.com. This makes no sense and I told them so. My guess is that they don't want to be penalized so they want me to cancel a reservation that they already cancelled.
Take a pass on this place. They don't care about honoring reservations or taking responsibility.
This motel was clean which is always my first concern. Bed was comfortable. No carpet which I love - although the concrete floor was unusual. Bathroom was modern and sparkling. Coffee machine, coffee, and bathroom amenities were all present.
I do not mind the sparse decoration and the room was big and I imagine hunters or others with gear would appreciate it.
I would stay again for one night travel.
My only complaint is that when I booked on Hotels.com it indicated a number I had to call for check-in arrangement. I left a message and got no response. When I called again I learned that was the wrong number and luckily the person had the correct one. It says call 48 hours in advance but you cannot get the code until the day of your reservation. When I am traveling and busy I am uncomfortable leaving it all to the last minute and being responsible for the contact.
I get the cost savings for a small, small business but it generated a little extra work and concern (as we ended up arriving very late and I don’t know who you would have contacted) and follow-through on my part (and I am the one paying for the service).
Overall, it was adequate for one night and the price was quite reasonable.
The accomodations were excellent! But the walls were thin, and the visitor in the next room yelled and cried at times, and could easily be heard, which excited our dog and he barked in response, causing the visito to yell back at him. So I slept in my car with the dog for the first part of the night.
