We stayed here for 3 nights for a quick trip to BV. The location of this house was perfect ... literally minutes from town. The house is well appointed and very comfortable. We had ample sleeping arrangements for our family of 5. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I had such an incredible week and give this home our highest rating! Buena Vista is a beautiful area, full of outdoor adventures, and this home has an amazing view of the Collegiate Peaks outside its front window. The back of the home overlooks a field where we saw 10-15 deer come through almost every day! The home was very clean, well-stocked with basic consumables, and even has a washer/dryer. It's very close to town yet feels secluded - really the perfect mountain retreat.

We were literally speechless when we drove up to this house... the views are breathtaking! The house was clean and well appointed and everything worked well. It was a quick drive into town and well located for lots of hiking and other activities. It couldn't have been more perfect for our family of four and the only negative was that we had to leave. We'll be back and we plan to stay longer next time!! :)

We had a great stay at this cabin! It is spacious and perfect for spreading out. The kitchen was fairly well stocked on cooking necessities. The property manager was great to communicate with and even came to check on us when we received 6 inches of snow. Unlike other cabins we've stayed at this one has a heater that could keep up with the colder weather and we were pleasantly comfortable during the time we were inside. The area is stunning and there is much to explore. Lots of hiking trails, nature drives, etc to keep you busy and a local town with cute shops and restaurants for the nights you don't want to cook. Pick this place. You won't regret it.

The cabin is spacious and located in the open plain of the valley, with vistas all around. Great space to hang out and enjoy the snowfall as you enjoy the fireplace. I definitely recommend it. There are a few opportunities for improvement. There are NO consumable supplies included, unless they are left by the prior guests. So no toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, dish detergent, hand soap, shampoo, etc. There was just barely enough left overs that we made it through ... but there won't be for the next guests :-/ . The bedrooms have NO table lamps -- so there is no light to read by or turn off once you're in bed. I had to read by cellphone light. (All of the light in the cabin is from ceiling fixtures). A bluetooth speaker would be a great addition as there is no source for audio/music (cellphone speaker just doesn't cut it). There were games and a number of DVDs, but no "Amazon Prime Smart Account" or satellite as the description states -- so no TV content other than the DVDs (And there was no remote control for the DVD player which was frustrating). We had about 4-5" of snow during our stay -- I would expect the long driveway to be plowed, but it was not. The dry mountain air was tough on our skin/noses/etc -- there were two humidifiers, but one leaked and the other was ineffective. To a prior review, the unit heats up quickly via the fireplace and the forced air. The space was 72F when we arrived and it had no problem heating up quickly even when it was in the teens outside. The fireplace, which is thermostatically controlled (on the wall, next to the furnace thermostat), puts out a lot of heat via its blower, so when we wanted to keep the fireplace on for the evening, we had to crack open a window. I would say the kitchen is not well stocked (e.g. no sugar, no pan to cook a pizza). There is a lengthy rental contract that you must sign to rent the space and then a number of "rules" posted around that is a bit off-putting. Again, I recommend the cabin, and with a few tweaks, the place would be extraordinary.

Overall a great place to stay. We took our daughter and boyfriend for an after-Christmas holiday and it was definitely great to have 2 bathrooms. Views were fantastic and being a bit out of town was great. It was close enough to anything you wanted to do in the area; we hiked a close-by trail and then went to Cottonwood Hot Springs to relax. A few things to know about the house: The house has very high ceilings and takes an incredibly long time to heat up - more than 12 hours to reach 69 degrees. Part of the lengthy time was due to the pilot light being out on the fireplace so it wouldn't turn on, which is the intended way to heat the main living space. But, a repairman came to fix it the next day and then we had no problem staying warm. Only an issue in cold weather, obviously, but is good to know even during warmer months due to cooler Colorado nights. While there was shampoo in the showers, there was no soap so be sure to take your own. There was soap for hand-washing by the sinks. We were able to access wi-fi without any problem and accessed the TV for movies and played some of the games while there. The kitchen was well stocked and I appreciated the ability to make biscuits and gravy while there because of the pantry items. Some of the bake ware had been put away dirty so you might want to check to see if needs washing prior to using. The beds were comfortable and we utilized the extra blankets, which were very appreciated. Overall, a beautiful house with amazing views all around and we thoroughly enjoyed our days away from the normal routine.

We really enjoyed staying at the Princeton retreat. The house is beautiful, spacious, and offers gorgeous views of the Collegiate Peaks. The kitchen is equipped with everything one might need to cook, the grill is very fast, and you can enjoy your meals indoor or on the porch. The beds were comfortable and the entire property was very clean. Renee, the property manager, is available and answers very fast any questions one might have. Buena Vista is perfectly located to go hiking, climbing several 14ers, boating or just strolling. Great vacation!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Princeton Retreat. this was a surprise 60th birthday party for my husband and our 3 adult children joined us. Having 2 full baths was a treat and plenty of places for sleeping. there are houses near by but you wouldn't really notice as they are spaced apart giving you privacy and great views of the mountains. It is also close to Buena Vista or Salida if you want to grab groceries or a bite to eat. It wasn't far from many trail heads and rafting outfitters if you are there in the summer months.. Reene was super to work with. All I can say is the cabin is as stunning as the pictures. We thank you for a great couple of days and I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in the area to enjoy the summer months or hit the ski slopes. Gables.

Newer cabin style home in a subdivision in Buena Vista. It's on a well maintained dirt road (typical for this area) set in the praries at the base of Mt Harvard. Surrounding homes are of similar style and age. I was hoping for more excluded feel of the mountains, but the newness and anemeties of the house made up for it. There is a front and back porch, which is very helpful since this area is a little windy and it's helpful to go to the side of the house not in the wind. We saw a deer and lots if rabbits on the property. Kitchen was easy to use with modern oven, gas stove, and appliances. Washing machine was very loud (older model) but works. Be sure to bring your own detergent if you need to do more than 1 load. Having internet WiFi and satellite we're nice with a big screen TV. Good for entertaining the kids when needed. 4 star since the master shower could have been cleaner and the kitchen drawers housing utensils could also have been cleaner. Otherwise, a clean and nice house. The top bunk was a nice addition, but the top rails are not tall enough to keep a kid from rolling out. So must be used for older kids. Luckily the guest bedroom has plenty of sleeping space. The top sockets in the bedrooms are wired to a light switch. It's a nice feature if you have lamps (this house is missing that feature). But if you don't know this (we didnt) you will have trouble charging your phones and accessories. Make sure the alarm clocks are plugged into the bottom sockets (they weren't when we arrived and had some trouble with the clocks resetting) there should be some sticker on the light switches or something to indicate this since most homes are not wired in this way in the bedrooms. Without lamps, it's harder to keep a calm lighting experience since overhead bright lighting is all that is available.

We stayed for a week with our close friends while ATVing in the mountains. It was a great location to stay, centralized to the locations our group was visiting that week. Very nice clean accommodations and extremely comfortable for 2 couples. Beautiful 360 degree view from any direction of the house and close enough to Buena Vista for any of your needs. The Mule deer must have been on vacation that week as well, but we did have several antelope out the back door. Would definitely stay here again. We highly recommend this property.

In addition to being very well appointed and maintained, the property offers 360 degree unobstructed panoramic views of the mountains to the east and west. Buena Vista is less than a ten minute drive from the home and has everything a visitor could possibly need, minus the outrageous price gouging one would encounter in Vail, Aspen, etc. The host was very responsive and professional, I highly recommend this property!

Had a great time at the Princeton retreat. Went with a group of co workers (ages 23-28) for white water rafting in Bunea Vista. Close to town if you need anything, and far enough away to relax and see the mountains. Would defiantly stay here again!

This property was amazing! Clean and well kept! Much wildlife in subdivision and beautiful mountain views from every room in the home. There's one grocery store in town and several restaurants. If you like to dine out, you better go early. Many of the restaurants close at 8. We enjoyed skiing at Monarch and the Princeton Hot Springs during our stay.

My Wife and I stayed for a long weekend, and we enjoyed our stay. Views were great off both porches, and the stars were very visible (this place is located about 10 minutes outside of town). Great views of the Collegiate Peaks. Although we didn't use it, there's another bedroom with a queen bed and bunkbed for those w/ children.

My husband and I came up for a little 3-day getaway to do some hiking and other outdoor activities in this beautiful region. The house was located in a broad valley flanked by mountains, and with porches on both the east and west side of the house, it was delightful to sit outside with the sunset and the sunrise. The house was well-appointed and very comfortable, with a large kitchen area and living area. Though it was only me and my husband, we'd consider returning with friends and their kids as there was another bedroom with a queen and 2 bunk beds. It's an easy drive into Buena Vista (where you can buy supplies if you want to cook meals) as well as to the river rafting launches, to Mt. Princeton hot springs, and to hiking trails and fishing ponds. So really ideally situated. Nicely decorated with little touches and comfortable furniture, we really felt right at home. For me personally, one thing I greatly appreciated was a comfortable bed ... I have a difficult time while traveling sometimes because I need a firm mattress. The king size bed was firm but not hard, with a cozy blanket. After a day of hiking and outdoor activities, it was great to get a restful night of sleep. The walk-in closet was a nice feature, too. I think my favorite feature was the eastern porch. And I also appreciated the kitchen being stocked with basic cooking spices and oil. Thanks for having us! We'd love to return in the future.
