"Excellent resort style hotel, gorgeous setting, fun ginormous pool and hot tub. Bathrooms in room and linens could use a total overhaul. Besides that, the hotel has wow factor when you first walk in! Staff was friendly all over the hotel. The starbucks worker could defenitely use a helper especially mornings Thanks for a great stay!"

"I don't have a complaint but I don't intend to visit again. I expected more because of the location. My daughter couldn't see herself in the bathroom mirror because it is so high up. I couldn't use my phone because the reception was very bad The room is just a poor design period."

"We really enjoyed our stay. My only regret is going to 501 restaurant the food was NOT good we even had to wait to be served until a young lady named Lily came over and asked us if someone had taken our order and then she became our server and if it wasn’t for her the entire ordeal would have been a disaster, she was very sweet, kind and courteous. As far as the house we definitely will be back and thank you Dixie for everything you are a 5 star alone"

Rockwall Retreat: Walk to the Lake

"We have rented vacation homes through VRBO for many years. This was the most neglected and misleading property we have ever encountered. The neglected exterior, unresolved maintenance issues, and misleading listing description made this a very disappointing experience.The listing advertises this home as “walk to the lake,” which is not accurate. When I contacted the rental company to ask how to access the lake, I was told we would need to drive to the lake area and then walk once there. Advertising this property as walkable to the lake is misleading. It had influenced our decision to rent this house.The condition of the exterior was shocking upon arrival. The property looked abandoned. Both the front and back yards were completely overgrown with weeds that were well over a foot tall. We notified the rental company immediately on Thursday when we arrived, yet no one ever came to mow or address the issue during our stay. The backyard was so overgrown that the patio area was essentially unusable.The maintenance problems throughout the home were numerous, including burned-out lightbulbs, a peeling floor in the master shower, cardboard covering a window, and a missing section of the back fence, etc.What is especially frustrating is that the home's interior is actually comfortable and well decorated. This property clearly has potential, but the lack of upkeep, maintenance, and quality control overwhelms any positive aspects of the stay."
