The Edward is quaint and in walking distance to many restaurants and shops. We had a wonderful stay. It’s very clean and all of the rooms are unique in their design which added to the pleasure of our stay.
The room was perfect! The Edward is a great gem! Ease of check in and out were top notch, especially for a late check in. The building was secure, quiet and cozy. We would definitely stay again when in the Buffalo area!
Great location in Elmwood Village area. Clean room with gas fireplace. Self check- in was easy with staff provided instructions. Many food options within walking distance.
It was a decent location, in a nice neighborhood. Building isn't much to look at from the outside but quite nice on the inside. Appears lots of thought, care and artistic talent has gone into creating this space. It was clean and comfortable feeling. The unfortunate parts are despite this our stay could have been better, due to a few key issues all related to sleeping. One issue was that the door had sizable gaps to the bright hallway, letting a ton of light into the room. And there were no curtains present, just some mini blinds over the windows so it was quite bright in the room beginning at about 5am. Further, it was a cold night and was a bit cold with the beds under the windows. The heater seemed to shoot heat over top the beds, and the small blankets weren't quite enough. There was no comforter on the beds, although there was an extra small blanket in the closet we discovered after being cold for part of the night. All in all it seems like some more thought put into practical aspects would be appreciated rather than style to make this an excellent stay.
We like the being able to walk down to elmwood av and finding places to eat. If i stayed again I'd want 2nd floor so i wouldn't have to hear people walking around.
The good: Great location in the Elmwood Village area. Extremely walkable. Once you're inside, the place is beautiful. It oozes charm and personality. The common areas are great, and our room was very, very nice. Comfortable bed, large bathroom, new TV, fridge. Parking was very convenient. Entry into the building and the room was great, with a custom code that worked on both doors. Finally, very responsive concierge (we interacted through text).
The not-so-good: Our room was on the 1st floor, so very close to the common area. The walls are thin, so if people are out there, you hear them. No big deal during the day, but we had people out there from 10 pm until midnight, and they were very loud. That in and of itself isn't the property's fault, but it is a reality if your room is close to that area. The more concerning part, however, is with noise upstairs. This is an old building with wood floors, so every footstep made upstairs is very loud downstairs. The first night, the people above us were apparently doing a cattle drive from midnight until 3 am, and again starting at 6 am. The second night was better, but still, you just hear every footstep and movement.
So... we would absolutely stay here again if we were able to get a 2nd floor room. And unless you are one of those people who can sleep through a hurricane, you may want to consider the same.
The room was ery comfortably. Amazing decor. Didn't feel like a hotel. Felt like you were in the comforts of your own home. Many amenities provided. Definitely a place we would go back to.
Great remote check in with easy to follow instructions ahead of time, lovely room with great facilities, very comfy bed and really nice touch with the coffee machine, welcome snacks and supplies in the lobby, would definitely recommend
Very unique and quaint hotel. Top notch welcoming and ensuring one knew how to access self check-in. Highly recommend as we wished we could have stayed longer!
