We saw toucans, monkeys, agoutis and some other animals on the property. Speaking of- our favorite staff member- Mama (orange cat) was very welcoming and enjoyed spending much of her time with us. "Calico Jacks is a bit outside San Ignacio so you definitely need a vehicle but the room was really cleaned and comfortable. I stayed for only one night so I haven’t used the pool or tried the zipline but the food at the restaurant onsite and the staff were amazing. Julio was my server and my guide the morning after to visit Barton Creek’s caves and he made sure I had a wonderful time."

"Fully stocked kitchen, they thought of all the little things. Host was friendly and showed us where everything was. There are only a few cabins/lodges on the property so it's quiet and peaceful. The pool is small but perfect for cooling off and getting some sun. We even made use of the full-size BBQ by the pool one night. "We didnt spend much time in the room other than to sleep. Don't stay in room 24!! Every night there was a full choir singing very loudly until 9pm at night The one night they were singing nursery rhymes, for no reason. The room was right next door and felt like they were inside our space! The up side was the air conditioning was great. We stayed in a Junior suite, so it had a 5 gallon water bottle which we appreciated. There was a kettle, so I brought oatmeal with me for a quick breakfast....
