"Go here! We took our 17 and 12 y/o and no one wanted to leave. The staff is the friendliest and most anticipatory you will come across. They have your table setup each day, if they hear you mention wanting to try something they will make it happen (they literally went into the jungle and picked bread fruit for us), and they had items ready for every activity we had mentioned possibly wanting to do. They gave jungle, water activities, and excursions and they are all the cheapest we have...

"Our flights out of Belize got delayed because of the weather and we ended up at the Fort George for the night. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone that needs a spot to stay and relax for the night. There was a lot of construction in the immediate vicinity, which suggested they are trying to draw more tourists. It is close to the water taxi, so the area seems more like a jumping-off point rather than a destination.
We had a great stay at the hotel, which was very comfortable, newly remodeled, beautifully designed and clean. We ate our meals there and some of the dishes were hit and miss. (Flatbread pizza was great! Risotto was way overcooked.)
We will definitely return for a night if needed to catch flights in and out of BZE. About 30 mins or $40 taxi ride to the airport. They have a shuttle that was great and is $15 per person, so a taxi was less for our family of 4."
"I loved this property! The room seemed to be recently renovated, everything was in excellent condition and very clean. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. The landscaping is designed to create a relaxing and calming atmosphere, which it does. The grounds are gated making it possible for anyone to enjoy sitting outside anytime without worrying about safety. There are to pools on site and we used the larger of the two every day. The staff is very friendly and an owner was usually around when we were there. It is a perfect base for exploring Belize City but also for excursions out of the city since it is close to the cruise ship terminal (they use tenders so no big cruise ships ruining the views or vibes) and to the water taxi terminal if you want to go to one of the islands or diving at the reef. Taxi and tour operators are easy to find on cruise ship days or the office can arrange them for you.
The onsite restaurant, Martha's, is wonderful. We sat out on the covered deck every day enjoying drinks or meals."
"Older hotel, large room, insufficient number of plugins for today, great breakfast, helpful staff, swimming pool and area needs some attention. Will pick up at airport for a fee. Very prompt service at airport pickup. Very good hotel stay for our family."
"Ms Deborah and staff made us feel very welcome.Every morning we had a delicious homemade breakfast. The property was very clean safe.Anytime we had questions with recommendations on things to do we just asked and were very happy with the suggestions given to us.
Next visit to Belize we will be definitely stay at The Ambassador’s Terrace"
"The food was delicious in their restaurant, the property itself is beautiful, and the staff were all so helpful and nice. Most important of all was the comfortable beds. We have already booked for a stay when we return."
"I felt fortunate to stay at the Triggerfish B&B. After a very long travel day from US with delayed flights, missed water taxi and sold out flights to ambergris caye, i found this B&B gem approx 7-9 mins from airport. The place was immaculate and located on a canal with lots of birds. The hosts, Cathy and Dan, are wonderful people. Cathy’s hospitality is top notch as well as her cooking. Tip: black bean chipotle burger for dinner and fry jacks for breakfast….mmmmmm.
The room is very comfortable, chills down nicely with AC and a great shower. The screened porch is nice to hang out on in the evening. I highly recommend the Triggerfish. And I felt safe as a female solo traveler."
Amazing Jungle Tree House right over the river with bikes and canoe
10/10 Excellent
"Our stay at Howler House was just as we imagined it could be. The hosts were absolutely amazing and quick with responses. Shanna picked us up from the water taxi, arranged our excursions, and was so helpful with any questions we had about the area. Kenny was there daily cleaning the pool or the yard. They both were so easy to talk to and really enjoyed spending time with them. The monkeys were all around and there was 2 babies that were very curious and came quite close. A wonderful experience! Waking up to all the birds singing was a great way to start the day, can’t be beat. The pool was very nice to cool down in since there was no a/c in the house but there were many fans that kept the air moving. I loved staying there and would not hesitate to stay there again."
"If you are looking for the jungle experience than this is the place for you. We were greeted by the local troop of Howler monkeys on arrival. Beautiful house right on the river. Locals had been seeing Manitee in the river near the house. Kenny and Shanna were great. We are already planning a return trip. "
