"Only ground floor room or one room with locked adjoining door with stranger left at 6pm when I checked in. The hotel knew that I was a female travelling on own and had many couples and families staying, yet no accommodation made for this. They also knew this wasn't ideal as they apologised. To be fair on the staff they offered free parking overnight as a result, however not ideal given reports in the media this week about single female staying in another hotel chain. Hairdryer in room did not work, staff not interested when I reported at checkout (good job I had also brought a small travel one, otherwise would have mean a soggy trip to reception!) Again, to be fair I have used this hotel before and not had any problems. Hotel clean, fairly priced, good breakfast. "

"I rarely write reviews let alone poor ones but I can’t recommend anyone stay here! We wanted to test it before recommending to our wedding guests looking for hotels in the area and so glad we did. A terrible nights sleep the bed was SO uncomfortable, lumpy and hard and the pillows were ancient. Genuinely the worst we’ve ever had and we are usually able to sleep anywhere. Facilities very shabby and barely any staff to be found at breakfast and the bar - we could have looked past that if the bed was ok but honestly, do not stay here. Marking a 2 stars as at least it was cheap and the shower was good "

Connor took the time to answer several of our questions about the local area and provided really helpful, knowledgeable recommendations that made our stay even more enjoyable. "Another livery stay at the Dragonfly. The best thing about this hotel is the price and close proximity to Bury St Edmund’s town centre. The staff were very attentive and the rooms clean and comfortable. Lots of free parking and fast taxi service. It doesn’t have lots of amenities like swimming pool, golf course etc., but if you want somewhere like a Premier Inn then it’s great. A lot more people should consider this hotel as the cost of other hotels nearby seems to be increasing and this hotel chain is fair on price. We have not eaten here, so I can’t comment of the food."
