"WOW! The villa was even better than in photos. We did not speak the same language as the hosts, but they did absolutely everything they could to make our stay perfect! We hosted our wedding here with 21 people, including ourselves. I couldn't have asked for anything better. The venue, food, vendors, etc. were just wonderful. If you're on the fence about this listing, this is your sign to book it! "

"This Villa was the perfect escape while also close to some fantastic day trip experiences. I was lucky enough to have a wedding here and also one week stay with family. The hosts, Mirella and Francesco, were exceptional for both our stay and our wedding. The experience was unforgettable, and I cannot thank them enough. "Loved this villa! It is so spacious with plenty of room for the nine of us who stayed. Everywhere was very clean and well kept. The outside space is delightful with lots of spaces to enjoy and of course the magnificent pool which we all enjoyed very much. We also really appreciated the gifts of wine, cake and pasta/sauce - delicious! There was a list of days for different categories of rubbish to be collected. However, despite putting the refuse out, some was not collected. Maybe the list needs to be updated? We were somewhat disappointed that trains do not seem to run from Piazza al Serchio station, as we had expected from the information given. Instead, all journeys appear to commence with a bus ride to connect to a train elsewhere.However, this couple of niggles did not detract from a fabulous holiday. Thank you for a wonderful stay at an excellent villa."

"We had a wonderful stay at this villa – the setting is absolutely beautiful and very peaceful. The villa was well-equipped with everything we needed, and the outdoor space was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the scenery.Our children especially loved the alpacas, chickens, and tortoises. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, even leaving us a delicious homemade cake on arrival.The nearby villages are quiet but charming and worth visiting. We also took day trips to Florence and Pisa – longer drives, but definitely worth it.Thank you for a fantastic stay!"

"We did not know Italy at all before this stay, and wanted somewhere not too busy with tourists - this villa turned out to be perfect! The villa itself was great - big, well appointed, and cool in the day. There was so much space outside, plus the beautiful pool. There is a footpath that goes to a small stream and then the village, and it was great to be able to walk to the bar / bakery / restaurant. Recommend Il Pozzo! We were a bit surprised when a few dogs found their way into the garden but then realised the footpath runs behind the large hedge (you can’t see people, but do hear them and see their dogs sometimes) Not a problem but given the otherwise remoteness of the villa, it can give you a start to suddenly hear voices! We found it easy to get out and about - we did Cinque Terre one day (not to be missed!) and also very much enjoyed Castiglione, the village just up the hill. Access into the villa’s driveway is a bit tight but we soon got used to it, and worth it for the peacefulness of the villa at the end of the track. Loriana was there to welcome us on arrival and was easily contacted if we needed anything (we didn’t but good to know). We would love to come again to this area, and would not hesitate to book this villa again."

"Lovely old mountain house with great pizza oven and stone built BBQ. The gardens are great and the pool was amazing. THAT VIEW!! you feel like you are swimming in the mountains. We even saw fire flies at night. "

"Our family of nine spent a week here and everyone was enchanted by the gorgeous setting and unusual home. The grounds were breathtaking with the river running behind the house and lots of places to enjoy the outdoors. We saw a family of foxes one night and we enjoyed the fireflies in the evenings. We slept with the windows open and the sound of the river running was beautiful. The house itself was unusual with the features of the ancient mill built into the home. The 5 bedrooms, each with a private bath were perfect for a large family. It was very clean and updated and the bedrooms were comfortable. Our hosts and the property manager were so helpful and they even left us a huge basket of fresh fruit. Our only challenges were the spotty WiFi (likely due to the location and the 9 people trying to use it), and the very American desire for a clothes dryer. We found the kitchen, while nicely equipped, a little difficult to use to prepare large meals, but we made it work. Overall, the home is like no place we have been before and it made our trip unforgettable!"
